April 4, 2014 at 7:32:02 AM UTC

Need to find my treasure map.

I remember , i had buried a pentium1 pc somewhere οn a deserted island in the Aegean Sea.

Where's my shovel ?

:D

April 4, 2014 at 8:19:36 AM UTC

Q6600? Don't have such modern stuff...

April 4, 2014 at 11:43:29 AM UTC

Another warmup?

I'm already overheating...

April 4, 2014 at 11:48:02 AM UTC

Looks like it's time to go fishing till u cycle all the junk yard :D

April 4, 2014 at 2:01:06 PM UTC

Arrggh! I just sold my last Q6600 last week!

I have a question about Pentium 1 PiFast. What sockets and CPU family is allowed? Does Pentium Pro allowed? Or only P54C, P54CS, P55C, Pentium OverDrive and Pentium Mobile (Tillamook) allowed in this test?

In my opinion , NO.

Pentium Pro was a 6th generetion cpu (P6 architecture) along with the Pentium II cpu's.

April 5, 2014 at 1:40:50 AM UTC

Finally!

Some Socket 754 action I can dig!

April 6, 2014 at 12:52:14 AM UTC

Maxxmem will be most interesting I think.

April 6, 2014 at 12:53:54 AM UTC

How are we supposed to compete with older scores done with v1.82?

April 6, 2014 at 1:05:40 AM UTC

How are we supposed to compete with older scores done with v1.82?

Wow, didn't even notice the version. :P

April 6, 2014 at 8:03:15 AM UTC

How are we supposed to compete with older scores done with v1.82?

If , we are not allowed to use version 1.82 , then there is no-way we can come close to those scores.

April 6, 2014 at 12:26:14 PM UTC

Wasn't there a latency bug in 1.82?

I'b be all in for dumping the current subs in the comp and just using the current version (2.01) to keep everybody on a level field.

April 6, 2014 at 12:53:04 PM UTC

Yes, there was a latency bug in some of the versions, probably 1.82.

Didn't test, but it appeared when you boot at higher clocks and then clock down the fsb a notch or two within OS.

Rules on hwbot say we should use the latest official version, which seems to be 2.01, but on the hwbot site 1.95 is linked.

It seems these records will never be broken.

April 6, 2014 at 2:39:38 PM UTC

I'm already close to the top scores, but only with the old version.

It's impossible with newer versions.

If the version has a known bug then the subs should be removed, seems reasonable

April 6, 2014 at 4:41:33 PM UTC

I agree. Being that only us three have subs in now, we should get the rule clarified by MM and save the hassle later, if we're all in agreement.

April 6, 2014 at 5:20:39 PM UTC

Personal opinion, and I will enforce it unless told otherwise by staff: The minimum version to be used should be the one linked on site (1.95), although I would recommend latest version to avoid altercations.

If it were up to me I would delete 1.82 as well, but this benchmark can be latency bugged anyway, no matter the version ;)

Confirmed. No reason to use bugged apps. The rules page also stated "latest version", which V1.82 is not.

I adjusted the rules page to reflect this: http://hwbot.org/news/1592_application_19_rules

April 7, 2014 at 9:27:18 AM UTC

I run maxxmem and freez the system.

April 7, 2014 at 10:43:26 AM UTC

even @ default clocks? :o

April 7, 2014 at 4:19:28 PM UTC

Yes!

April 8, 2014 at 12:50:22 AM UTC

April 8, 2014 at 6:17:59 AM UTC

April 9, 2014 at 4:50:00 PM UTC

Maybe IMC is half dead?

April 9, 2014 at 7:09:30 PM UTC

Also the high-priority mode often causes troubles .

April 10, 2014 at 5:08:50 AM UTC

Five cpu,mobo the problem.

April 16, 2014 at 11:22:12 PM UTC

Just wanted to pop in and say I love these little Team Cup warm-ups! I've been out of the house over the past number of weeks due to renovations, so have been unable to participate in the March or April warm-ups, but I would like to lend a voice of support for doing them again before next year's Team Cup too. Cheers!

April 17, 2014 at 8:01:37 AM UTC

yeah, especialy because of the cheap and special hardware. :)

April 17, 2014 at 10:54:02 PM UTC

I agree with the two above me. :)

April 18, 2014 at 3:41:01 PM UTC

Classicplatforms is killing it! Lots of great DFI mb in this comp too.

For now. Fat lady ain't here yet and there's plenty of people here that are more than capable of laying waste to some of those scores.

April 26, 2014 at 9:58:12 AM UTC

Where is Russia team ? Veld has a winter sleep ?

April 30, 2014 at 7:51:56 AM UTC

I really don't understand Maxxmem, I got really really low score (>300) and I get the same running 11x240 as 11x270 (exactly the same). Running SLI-DR with Opty 180 and BH-5 at 2-2-2-5-1T. All other benchmarks shows correct scores.

April 30, 2014 at 9:22:59 AM UTC

11x270 it's windows boot clock? or use clockgen?

April 30, 2014 at 10:05:09 AM UTC

Oops, I thought the competition ends after midnight.. I'm at work now so there's no chance to rebench and I don't even have the 740 maxmem screen with me. Fail! :D

April 30, 2014 at 10:47:11 AM UTC

11x270 it's windows boot clock? or use clockgen?

I've tried both. Got a slightly higher score when setting clocks in BIOS, but still a bit from what I "should" have

April 30, 2014 at 11:10:25 AM UTC

Marquzz-san, I think you should try another CPU

April 30, 2014 at 12:01:45 PM UTC

Congratulations to all teams ! It was really nice to see Classicplatforms producing many solid scores !

Sorry about the sandbagging , but we had to win this 3rd round also . :D :D :D

April 30, 2014 at 12:12:49 PM UTC

April 30, 2014 at 8:20:12 PM UTC

It was very interesting contest )) Waiting for something like this with very old HW, and modern, with crazy competition like SuperPI 32M on AMD Venice, etc.

April 30, 2014 at 9:01:57 PM UTC

Hellas, always brutal to compete against. Good job. Congrats. :)

@ Stelaras- sandbag is not an issue with us my friend. We run what we bring and hope we bring enough. :D

May 1, 2014 at 3:46:08 PM UTC

Congrats to Hellas for the third warm-up win!

However we will not leave you win the real deal so easily :P

What's your paypal account ???? :D:D

PS . Great job man ! I have to admit that many of your scores give me troubles ! :D

Hellas, always brutal to compete against. Good job. Congrats. :)

@ Stelaras- sandbag is not an issue with us my friend. We run what we bring and hope we bring enough. :D

Thank you Mr.Scott . :)

In my opinion sandbagging causes troubles only when the other team didn't max out their hardware . It's like benching on air/water when you should have benched subzero .

Overall this three month competition was an amazing school for all of us . We learned a lot of forgotten things about old hardware & tweaks .

Regards , Stelios

May 2, 2014 at 2:15:34 AM UTC

Crazy results again. You guys are killing it!

May 6, 2014 at 1:01:07 PM UTC

It starts on 15th

And so it's the 15th...

May 15, 2014 at 5:37:09 PM UTC

I thought it would start together with the next Pro OC round, but I don't have any information about it.

Probably referring to something Massman said, but I don't remember anymore.

Perhaps just a speculation from my side... :(

May 16, 2014 at 6:57:09 AM UTC

stage 1: geforce 3d-mark 01; geforce 1 to gtx700/titan

stage 2: radeon 3d-mark 03; radeon 7k to r9

stage 3: pentium wprime 32: pentium 1 to pentium haswell

stage 4: athlon super pi: athlon, athlon xp, athlon64... to athlon richland

stage 5: 3DMark - Ice Storm Unlimited - fullout

there is something for everybody, isn´t it?
