RAM caching allowed for PCM7?

Is it ok if I submit a result without systeminfo? Damn systeminfo won't work on my motherboard, no matter what... just hangs the bench.

We're still trying to get the bench to do what we want, but even with an -ehem- professional version, it's not possible to test stages seperatelly?? This stage is for those who can bare sitting there for 16 minutes LOL.

What about -nosysteminfo? Is a score without systeminfo valid?

Well, if this benchmark doesn't get the changes it needs, it'll be the last time we used it for a competition. It's so anti-competitive, it's not even funny anymore. You can't even select individual tests to check scaling! :-/

I see that Crantana has submitted a socket 1155 score ( http://hwbot.org/submission/2232349_crantana_pcmark7_core_i7_2600k_6254_marks ) that isn't being included in the team total, I subbed an 1155 score to start off but have since replaced it with a better s1366 score, maybe a bug that the new 1155 score isn't included?

This benchmarks is the most "awesome" one I've ever seen. Seriously, hate it.

Too boring and you can't run each test separately.

Oh..and the basic version requires internet connection, which I don't have on all test systems.

Got no idea how to get that encoding test so high...

Turns out to be more of a software bench then hardware related... Apparently there are command line options if you have the pro version... Though prolly something has to be altered in windows to get it soaring... not my thing at all... look at FM webbie, there are guys with over 28K encoding

Looking at some scores at FM seems top 30 is uberly tweaked with 3rd party software sigh.... I hope you lot can bring them down hard... not going so deep into this ahum benchmark...

disable metro view and the freezing goes away.

Tried that mate, always freezes at collecting systemInfo, system get's very sluggish... tried running in Win7 mode, doesn't even pop up then. Administrator mode yes or no... crap program does nothing on my X58 setup... Well done Futuremark !! Another amasing product in the pcmark line...

maybe we should collect some info and post it somewhere - just stuff that makes the benchmark run without issues:D

The rules definitely need a complete re-write; it's complete chaos. Something to do in 2012 !

Imho, 'back in the day' whoever said ramdisk should not be tolerated in PCMark05 was wrong. Who are 'we' to say that a user should not optimize his configuration by making the most of the DRAM he's using? It only makes sense to use DRAM for lower latency if your HDD is not up for the task. The same goes for the browser: why on earth would you not allow people to change their browser if it's too slow.

The rules for PCMark05 won't change in that respect; for that it's way too late. But for PCMark7, we can do it differently. As long as you don't change the benchmark code, everything should be allowed.

Btw, the software tuning aspect is present in every benchmark: changing desktop resolution for higher 3DM03 in W7, enabling LSC, flashing 3DM01-boost BIOS, copy-waza. The difference with PCMark is just that all those tweaks are in the open, whereas PCMark7 is still largely uncovered. In the olden days, there were a lot of "3Dmark tweaking guides" floating around ... we'll just have to wait for a PCMark7 tweaking guide to appear .

The stage is based on CPU socket. Leeghoofd already has a higher score with LGA1366.

but i have 8 core.

the score of leeghoofd is 4core.

Pcmarks goes about number of cores.....

^^ Use Systeminfo 4.6.0 - it works fine. If you can't pass sysinfo you need to lower your oc, then raise it after sysinfo runs - if you can
