GIGABYTE Target OC
GIGABYTE TARGET OC is a new challenge to test the true overclocking skills of the community. Setting an exact target on not only high, but also low scores, the participants need to adjust the performance of their systems to hit the right mark.
With TARGET OC, GIGABYTE decided to have some fun with selection of the target scores and chose some epic world records back in the day as well as some super bad scores to see how well you can tune your system to the level of performance of old time greats and super bad overclocks of today. By trying to hit every scores set, we are hoping the participants will have fun trying to search the perfect setting for the perfect score.

Here weeeee gooo!
go go go !
So sad I don´t have a Gigabyte board - I know how to make bad scores
massman!
please can you post the clock that HWBOT uses. we will need exact time to hit this target
Awesome Gigabyte!
No wallpaper?
Wallpaper is here : http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/Wallpaper.jpg
Competition start the 10/08/2014 but the first ranking start the 10/19/2014 so we're not able to submit before the 19 ?
lol i'm dumb... Thanks for the wallpaper.
Been running Spi32 all day now, I'm not even pro enough to suck at it.
Why XTU? This leaves AMD users and Intel guys with older platforms out of the lucky draw. It makes more sense giving a chance to people that still don't have current-gen Intel platforms to win a new generation intel mobo.
yeah, y allways xtu? -.- my gigabyte with FX8350 can´t participate because of that
by matching do you meen whit same gpu's or is any gpu and gpu brand alowed even whit downclocking?
and how is it possibel to submit in 5 stages when."winners of one stage are not allowed to participate in another stage or lucky draw"
what if more than one score is the same in a stage.whil the persen who submit furst stay furst?
My i7 970 + X58A-OC and my s775 cpu collection + ep45t-ud3r can't run XTU but I'm intrigued and will definitely try the other stages.
To guys saying they can't compete with AMD, that is not the case. You may not be able to compete on one stage but you still have a whole bunch of others to compete on and each stage has a cash prize and participation prizes are random as long as you participate
PRIZES:
Stage 1 ~ 5: 1st place of each stage will receive $400 USD
Lucky draw: Five randomly selected participants will receive one of these motherboards: 1x Z97N Gaming 5, 1x Z97N-WIFI, 1x Z97X-SOC FORCE LN2, 2x X99-SOC FORCE
which means Sandy and newer Intels.
Of course we can compete in other stages and I will participate anyway.
Alright, i'll request a rule change
So in the case of catzilla and xtu, which seem totally possible to match, how does this work if multiple people hit it? First sub wins??
I thought first in best dressed rule was there, massman?
First to hit the target wins
in case no one hits the target, the first to post the closest submission wins
whil scores from xtu whit abnormal detected cpu speed and temps be alowed?
like
cpu speed 0 or like 321549845 , temperature of --
October 7th
???
Can we get a proper clock/calendar for submissions?
I'd like to see a clarification looking like:
- you can submit XTU results between 14:00 UTC on March 31st, 2014 and 16:00 UTC on March 31st, 2014
- you can submit 3DMark results between...
Right now it says that the cup opens in 15 hours, but I can submit first scores on 19th October?
Yes, it would be better if some Gigabyte guys clarify some moments:
-is submitting before opening hours allowed?
-if yes, will our score calculate automatically?
-if no, rules for covertation time, I mean if my post was posted) at xx:xx, what is the time at the same moment in UTC+08:00?
-is slowering system allowed ( For example using prime95 or any other cpu/memory/vga load in background?
The competition was announced on the 7th, but the first stage is only open on October 19. That should give you plenty of time to prepare. You can not submit before the start of the competition time.
In UTC+8
- You can submit XTU results between 2PM and 4PM on October 19 2014
- You can submit HWBOT Prime results between 2PM and 4PM October 26 2014
- You can submit 3DMark05 results between 2PM and 4PM November 2 2014
- You can submit SuperPI 32M results between 2PM and 4PM November 9 2014
- You can submit Catzilla 720P results between 2PM and 4PM November 16 2014
In UTC
- You can submit XTU results between 6AM and 8AM on October 19 2014
- You can submit HWBOT Prime results between 6AM and 8AM October 26 2014
- You can submit 3DMark05 results between 6AM and 8AM November 2 2014
- You can submit SuperPI 32M results between 6AM and 8AM November 9 2014
- You can submit Catzilla 720P results between 6AM and 8AM November 16 2014
You are allowed to slow down your system. But of course no speedhacking or stuff like that.
Disabling of cores allowed..?
Just to clarify, there will be different backgrounds for each stage made available when the previous stage starts.
So, there's a strict time bindig and if you miss submitting time (problems with internet, family issue, disease or something like that) - you're looser, am I right?
The way i see it the best connection/faster typer wins.Xtu score can be reached easy, then it is all a matter of speed of submission.Still, interesting comp.
dam, need to re becnh evriting.hope it whil be spot on agen
Damn that's one lame rule, let's plan everyone's oc schedule, then make them submit first thing in the morning.
whats about that: let each stage last a whole weekend next time but the target-score will not be announced until the stage starts. so you really have to bench within the weekend und not the fastest typer will win but that guy who really reach the target result fist?
Excuse me, where I can read about fast typer? So who will submit first result with the same score as in rules - win? How about other guys? If I got it correctly this competition checks speed of submitting scores on hwbot.
Yes, as in other rankings, the first person to submit wins if there are 2 or more submissions with the same score.
I find it a little bit annoying, but that's how the rules are and we play by the rules.
Rules are defined by those who give the money
So that wallpaper linked above is not for the XTU stage? We will have to run everything in the 2 hours because the wallpaper will be revealed then?
No, the wallpaper is exactly for XTU. <- Ah, yes..got what you mean. You can find the XTU wallpaper on the XTU stage page.
Wallpaper for next stage will be "revealed" after that 2 XTU hours submission window, or during that time.
Wallpaper for 3rd stage will be revealed during submission time for 2nd stage and so on...you get the idea.
At least that's what I understood.
Not that I don't have all wallpapers already
To staff: Better change them (guess I'm not the only one that figured it out) and restrict access to new files, otherwise the whole idea is lost.
Lol yea, genius security.
Yeah, it was very hard..took me 1 sec to figure it out.
yes delete the files.
change them and re uploud them one by one when the previus stage ends.
a sugestion of changes, other background coller and not the fonds coller
i know it take some time.
from wich stage is this background?
Best do a lucky draw out of the spot on submissions per stage... fastest submitter wins, which is kindda silly. Almost everybody will have their scores ready before the stage actually starts and the entries will be done in the first 5 mins lol HWBOT server permitting ofcourse
why not make the last submitter win? think about it, everyone will try to get as close to the deadline as possible but 1s too late and you're out
Interesting, why not submit and tape yourself doing it with ya feet ? I'll just enjoy myself trying to get as close as possible :nana:
Lol awesome idea
Sam really wants the server to go down
And why not change/cancel everything and simply give one SOC Force LN2 to every one
or make one stage where the best minesweeper score win :nana:
lol sudden death round is highest minesweeper score haha
Urgh, that was the plan indeed. Okay, making new wallpapers ...
6am - 8am on a Sunday subs open in Aus.
At least my kids might be asleep.....
why not extend time period and then post score to match at the beginning of each stage, that is how we did it back in the day when these types of competitions were popular.
haha Pauly, definitely an advantage then!
i'm rady for it.
Access is denied for the XTU background on the stage page: http://hwbot.org/competition/gbt_targetoc/stage/1766_xtu:_159_marks/
Link leads to http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_1.jpg
Competition background: http://hwbotnews.s3.amazonaws.com/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_1.jpg
Paulie, correct me if i'm wrong but UTC+8 will be 1600-1800 or 1700-1900 for the east coast.
Which stages are high scores and which are low scores?
From what I understand XTU would be low score and 3DM03 would be high score?
So 160 points XTU would win over 158 points if 159 is not reached by anyone?
Ready to go! Score is nailed, fastes submission wins! http://hwbot.org/submission/2652171_
Yeah it's gonna be crazy. XTU is easy to reach specific score, especially on Pentium G3258 - scores are very stable.
I'll be putting my hopes in the Lucky Draw instead
Also tested 3DM03 the other day (Q9505 + 9600GT) and was out by only 1 point from the target, but not valid since there is no wallpaper for 3DM03 stage yet haha.
3DM05 not 03.
Is it possible to fill in all necessary fields and upload score before competition starting. I mean not press last button for submiting, just wait time and after that click button and you're score is submitted )
yeah wondering why this is already available?
http://hwbot.org/submit/competition_stage/1766_/
plz give us some info if it whil be ok or not?
where did you find this link? ) It's almost the answer on my question
actually when u are in 1st stage there is a submit button an brings u there...
Actually I hope this is a bug because this way we will have everybody submitting within seconds after start...prolly even same submission times possible...
Got it, missed go to score button. This is exactly that I asked before. With this possibility score submission is way easier than without ) So fast internet and automic clock FTW! :battle:
2 minutes before the start massman say 171 would be a nice joke
hmm
What, you don't have screenshots of all scores from 150 to 180 ready to go just in case?
You are correct sir!
FATBOYNOTSOSLIM : LoL
Nice...
lol my internet is too slow, I had to measure submitting time before and click the button for two seconds earlier (
Lol that escalated quickly...server sucked...submitted exactly 8:00:00 German Time
Yeah I think submitting some seconds earlier (what actually suckes!) and beeing lucky exactly hitting the lag-spot will do the trick.
I hit submit-button exactly 8:00:00 and well...hit a bucket of sh1t...
Way of submitting sucks....specially if submission page is accessible before.
Should only be available the moment it starts so that at least everybody has to enter values first...
WHere is screenshot for stage 2 ? We are running out of time!!!
Ninja
Cheater )))
congrats to cristian ney & his girl
what a fast internet.
it just like how fast your internet connections, than how fast your PC, lol..
i should click submit button earlier before the time 00,
Nice job Christian!
But seriously, show score to match at beginning of stage, not weeks in advanced. That way its a long race, less dependent on internet.....
Perfect timing for that error to appear.
Interesting for me also )
Another test that I've never run before )
Haha, awesome stuff. For your reference, here are the submission times for the scores:
For MarineOC and Christian Ney we'll have to go look at the server logs for more detailed timing
True love
note to self, have 100 tabs ready to go next time.
lol congrats everyone!
screenshot no2 now please haha!
no "internet" he submit trought LAN directly intranet
Smthng is not ok with timing mate for example in my team page my submision is before FGI submision but in competition he is before me, looks like your server using diff timers
p.s. The serv, the serv the serv is on fire! Burn mo...... burn
Edit: my bad i was loocking overall
Wow can't believe it took 40 seconds for 496kb to be uploaded...so next time gonna hit submit at least 30 seconds earlier...wtf?!
€: oh and btw - everybody should only have 1 shot...else everybody will upload 20 scores upfront to hope one hits the sweet spot (like we can see multiple submissions)....some details of this competition start buggin me...
or he directly submit using hwbot server
Nice run! (date 2014.10.13. 8:38)
Being first to submit will require the same amount of luck as winning the lucky draw, maybe even more if you check the logs and see 3 submissions went in the first two seconds...
So I'm taking my time to submit and hoping I win the lucky draw instead
good luk for the next run to the rest.and congrats to MarineOC and Christian Ney .
i hope ther whil be no error messega for me the next stage while submitting.
and wats up whit the ranking ?stage winner and overal winner ar not the same.
1ponit for the win in a stage is not 0 points in the overall ranking.
Feel happy - due to the fact others submitted multiple scores at a time, mine took at least 38 or 39s...and I am having a pretty good connection here.
This is why I say no to result-hammering - only one try per person (I mean next time we all do 30 scores 30 seconds upfront and all have the same time?)...
Makes no sense to me that we try "hacking" for the 6:00:00 - else I have a script next time to do the job...
I thought that there must be used a intel Pentium G3258 on a Gigabyte motherbord the number 1 and 2 uses a intel celeron, did they changed the rules?
its ok to use other cpu's, ther whas no change in the rules
Contest Rules
GIGABYTE motherboard only, no restriction on CPU, VGA brand,
Indeed the concept is to beat the slow Pentium score, if you can do with an i7 5960X that's fine... only hardware limitation on Stage 1 was a GB board
When will the background of Stage 2 be available?
i think in 7 days and 30 minutes
Contest Rules
A new wallpaper will be released at the beginning of each stage.
I'm happy I've just tried to count how much time I need for submitting score. Seems I should start do multisubmitting at least 11 seconds earlier )
If I understand correctly then every 2 hours, you can upload the results?
P.S. Do not kick or throw slippers
Where is a new wallpaper?
Not yet there...but don't worry, it's easy
Nice idea, nice contest, but bad implementation...
When it's only about knowing server lag and multi upload, I have to say: HOMEWORK NOT DONE!
oh yeah
I have tried more than twenty times, had no luck to match with this score) As for me very big difference between each runs
Go Alex-)
with certain settings there is more difference...also if you have XTU to fine-adjust your base-clock - things will get more easy...don't want to tell more but there is way more "tweaking" involved in stage 2 to match the target score
Id say you guys change rules so that a score is released at the start of each stage as the score to match.
That would be actually rather fun. Split time between tweaking and closing in the score, whilst uploading on another system to keep you within range in case no one hits it spot on.
That or we limit the number of submissions to 1? And any submissions before the start time = disqualification.
^ I thought it was already this way but I was wrong. Agreed this would be epic fun.
I honestly didn't know it was possible not to do it the way I posted, but I guess its possible to do it this way, just like its possible to milk a cat.
Can I use ES CPU ?
Wallpaper for Stage 2?, where is?
Wallpaper is here: http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_2.jpg
Yes, no problem
Something isn't clear, I think.
Should participant submit score in all 5 stages(for example HWBOT Prime limitations) or only 4 stages(contest rules) to enter lucky draw?
4 rounds to enter into the lucky draw, 5 if you want an extra chance in said draw. Win any of the rounds, and your removed from lucky draw.
yeah would be fun. You would still have people complaining about what timezone they are in though. 24 hour blackout as well would probably help too a little lol
There are some conflicts that I can't understand between the main rules and stage 2 rules. The main rules said:
+ To enter the lucky draw, participant must submit a score in at least 4 stages.
Stage 2's rules said:
+ To enter the lucky draw, participant must submit a score in all 5 stages.
So, please tell me what's rules should i follow ?
Oh, I must update the rules.
Since XTU in Intel only and prohibits AMD users from competing, the requirement for the lucky draw was reduced to being active in 4 stages minimum. So not 5
.
Thank you Massman
One thing else i want to clarify that may i save the data file and then submit at the 2 open hours of each stage ? Or I must benching at these 2 hours ?
Thanks again
You can prepare your submission but must submit in this 2 hour window
thank you Massman
Can I underclock my system to match the stage's score ?
Yes
Getting closer to submit time! I hope everyone is ready.
RIP HWBot servers...
EDIT: Or not, all my subs failed with "No client version given, required version: 0.8.1,0.8.2,0.8.3,1.0.1,1.0.2" error message.
Mine failed because I didn't have the right Motherboard for the competition even though I benched on a Z97 SOC.
I though it would auto detect the Mobo & I didn't need to fill up the field.
Another mistake & failure.
Sigh..
same message here!!
the same message to me
seems too many browsers was also not good idea for me. First attemts were too fast, second opposite - too slow. Will see how hard to get that amount of points in 3DMark. I think it might be harder for participants.
After 2 stages in this competition, i realize that this competition is all about fast internet connections and luck.
i just wanna ask, if we submit 2 score, one in +1s, and the second +5s, which submission that will be count? thanks,
fcuk..didn't realize we're changing the clock for winter time this night...when I got up it was already 20min late.
Closest 3dm5 i`ve got is 30200marks,but with a gtx580 i must find a less powerful gpu.
I did have a server problem this time or somting like thad.
page not found bla bla bla.
after a coppel of minuts the site was found.but no big deal for me this thime, score was not spot on
what was the cpu? Did you try to decrease VGA clocks?
Really? What a surprise...
Please post submission times again
And why did it at first show fana1ty 1st, joe90br 2nd, and QuantumX 3rd, and no MarineOC and now marine is 1st?
Lol we had time-change here in europe so it seems I got up an our too late ^^
I almost made the same mistake, sleepy went to my PC and decided to check what timer of competition showed to us )
What a nitemare today is turning into after getting the below message
You are currently ranked 31st. Your best is 2967.55 pps. To improve your ranking, try to beat SoF's score of 2967.55 pps.
You're welcome
Ladies always go first, it's a golden rule :nana:
I dont have access to the server log, but I can show you the submissions sorted by submission ID (Top 10 that hit 2967.55)
Massman will post tomorrow.
G3258 at 23x99.5,and i didnt try to decrease clock,it`ll be better and more precise with gpu oc`ed.
Same as above but more detailed.
this has nothing to do with "fair play"...this is plain stupid result hammering...not a worthy winner!
fantal1ty nailed it with one submission - that's how it should be! well done!
as you can see in the list above it currently seems that result-hammering is allowed and even welcomed.
In Stage 2 the winner submitted I think at least 15-20 results the minute BEFORE the competition is open - due to a lag and other requests you block the result-ids and therefore hopefully end up in front of the "honest" participants only using one score and sending it right in the second the competition starts.
I questioned that already in stage one and kindly asked if we change the rules to "one target, one submission" but looks like some ppl. wanted to keep their advantage and bend the entire competition...
Changes will be made for future competitions.
As for blocking the result ID, I am not sure how the server works, but the stuff we tried to submit too early didn't pass. For stage 1, with our internet connection, screenshot, system pic combo it takes about 5-6s to submit.
http://hwbot.org/newsflash/2692_
Now for stage 2, our fixed internet connection was down (modem died 2 days ago, replacement arrives on monday). Marine used my phone as hotspot. Submission time was even longer.
Look at the bright side, we can't compete for Stage 3, 4 and 5.
So you may not take part when you won but help your buddy literally doing most of the stuff by yourself and win another stage - awesome!
New competition background: http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_3.jpg
......subbed with 36 minutes to go. I am so good at this.
Is it a fault of the people who organized this event or the people who commited to make it happen ?
I dont really know.
But the result is ... Shame and lame.
People with a cause on their mind will always find ways to spoil the true spirit of a competition.
Sorry Hwbot ... but you dont deserve this kind of image given.
Sometimes it's better to stop an error beeing ... than waiting for it to end.
I would also vote for one submission per member... bit weird that you can resubmit the same score over and over again... think there are some lessons learned for this type of competition...
I would have loved to see it another format, post the background with target score. From that moment the OCers have 12 hours to post the best or matching score...
Anyway at the next OC event drinks are on Christian and Marine :woot:
Fun competition Gigabyte, no high end hardware needed. It takes some time and patience to get there
Drinks? They better pay my flight to computex 2015!

He will just pass out while drinking and not sure how much Marine can handle
Anyone has to propose a better competition idea? Feel free to do it in public.
A competition can't satisfy us all.
See the bright side. This competition will have 10 different winners.
We all said already what is wrong here - the major idea is so good it hurts to see it ruined by these kind of loopholes...do you followed this every sunday?
Indeed a good point mista Sofos... and like stated before thanks to Gigabyte and HWBOT for hosting it
Just for the history
Can you show us the entries of about 30sec before the deadline time ?
Can you show us even the deleted entries ?
That's a good point.
I can only see the failed submissions in the server logs, which I can't access right now. The deleted entries should be in that list too.
I agree. Thanks to Gigabyte and HWBot for hosting this.
400$ prize money is really a lot considering how easy it is to get the target scores. And the lucky draw also has some great prizes which I hope I win one of
Maybe next time we can reveal the comp. background at the start of the stage and have a 2 hour time for people to achieve the target score.
You wouldn't need more time than that as you can do pre-testing beforehand and get your frequencies right.
Or match the score four days before the stage starts, keep the computer on for four days with result on screen, apply the background once it's available, take the screenshot and submit haha
We all learn and maybe the rest of the field agrees not to hammer the server - if your name is listed more than twice within TOP10 submissions next sunday...u no cool
Lol, I've started submitting 12 seconds before time, and first two or so were too fast(earlier that it was necessary) after that was some server lag and my first submission in time was 10 seconds late. That's weird.
You have been lagged by the Swiss OC mafia Major
Seems I've been lagged by my own
Our server back-end isn't too great with multiple requests from a single connection. Submitting multiple scores at the same time from the same PC/connection may indeed cause a delay.
Agree..
I think this competition is great because have unique idea and anyone can participate without high spec hardware. But i feel there something wrong with the implementations of this competition.
Someone that know about hwbot system, server lag, weakness of system, will win.
I agree with rules about "one person, one submission".
After this time that show us there are something wrong, maybe most of us not interested to this competitions anymore.
Thanks,
Sorry for my bad english, lol
Easy...
We had a similar competition on a bench session, but: target score was unknown UNTIL start of the competition...
Idea:
1. increase time frame for submit up to eg 24 h
2. timeframe can be adjusted from stage to stage for every reagion (EU / US / ASIA)
- let's say first stage starts at 0800 am CET, second 0400 pm CET, third 0000 am
3. target unknown, maybe just give a range
- secret trarget is eg 80.000 3D03 and just a range from 60.000 ~ 100.000 is published to prepare the right hardware
=> first hit is the winner, or the closest score after 24 h
for shure, these 24 h are though, but can also be changed down to 4 h or 8 h...
Thanks Stummi. We will have it in mind for next time
Of course, but seems it wasn't working for MarineOC ))
is it just me or does 05 gives a hard time matching a certain score?...it's soooooo random
I had +2 and -2 already but next run --> +/- 100 points....well there is still some time left so re-run, re-run, re-run...
@Massman don't blame the server, according to what I know from servers, dbs and stuff this lag is caused by all the other multiple submissions not just the one sending it (server actually doesn't care where the data comes from, it just reserves IDs and starts to handle them first-in, first-out!)..
my first result in stage 1 took 38 seconds to be accepted because there have been like 20-40 results in queue from others...I only sended one single result and it lagged like never before...If everybody only submits one result -> less/no lag -> no problem
I have the same thing but whit a bigger gap to the target. closest for the moment is +- 14
for the second day, tomorow its an other day to rerun and close the gap.
The real bad thing - I didn't saved that 30255 on sunday because I thought "ok I'll just nail it monday...
After relooping almost entire monday -> fufufufufuffufufufuffu ^^
Had one 30275, first mixed the last digits, party on - then realized - that's not the score...
€: darn I really need to fix that login -.-
Yes but it makes hitting the target that much sweeter!
Had 30258 two times now...more re-runs than XTU and Prime together - this stage starts to get out of control for me
I haven't tried yet, but nailed hwbot prime from the 5th run. Then forgot about the time change
This is the consequence of using "smart" alarms with self-adjusting day-light saving time. If I only have used a conventional alarm clock...
Please, guys tell me is my photo legit ? BTW do we need online URL to enter this competion?
Thanks!!!
P/S: The funny thing that among my futuremark collection, ONLY 3dmark 05 is missing, lolz!
You mean you need a 3DMark05 key?
As per stage rules no valid FM url is required.
It would be cool if you do not hide the most important part of the wallpaper with GPU-Z
for me its legit. But its beter to switch the gpu-z and 3dmark score window from place. And i hope ther whil be no link needed.
christian was a bit faster
Correct me if I'm wrong but stage rules say "Try to reach 30257 marks, but not higher."
So:
I have 30258 laying here and according to this -> no legit score
Yep
Yea don't blame server, if the server can't handle it(then fix the servers, I think you have some sort of obligation, they are still broke from the last issues I told you about Pieter) let the forums handle it, they have time stamped posts. That is how we handled these types of comps back in the day, forum time stamps.
Thank you very much, guys
Closing in,30247.And got close on superpi-20m27s722
30254 here
251 here, but it's pure damn luck. Not sure I will ever make it, lol.
And just got excited for a moment, but it was 275...
Yeah that 275 really is a nasty score
Can't believe how hard it is to match the score - 10 hours of re-running today...
I'm on a sick leave at home, so guess what I'm doing all day long...
Scores are all over the place. At least I have 4 more days
.
PS: Bingoooooo!
I did the 30257 score once but it was with the first wallpaper released after competition announcement
...
Damm what a hard nut to crack!
Closest for me after an other day of re-run , re-run , ... 5 points belwo and 2 point above.and some time whit same settings i am way of the scale max 31k min 29k
I.nfraR.ed, have a direct hit? as this?
I have a question: If we don't use FM URL, can someone photoshop this screenshot and upload it to match the stage's rules ?
By the way, I don't have 3DMark5 key
Yes, exact score.
u lucky boy
Still re-running...can't believe this is so hard.
Using Pentium and 580...maybe bad combo for consistent score?
Very inconsistent scoring here as well. Variance of about 400 points between runs...
Pentium and 680
I will triple check each and every single score in that ranking for edits/photosops, I wish you good luck
As for the 3DMark05 key, here is one:
3DMark05: C1S0A-2VF80-D6RHW-UWZLU
PS: Every HWBOT user can use that key. It's a special key FM gave us to give away to members.
It will soon be posted on the benchmark page. I leave it here in the meantime.
AMD 1090T + GTX580, but score varies a lot here too.
@Christian Ney: Thank you so much
hehe need to find 3 point whit my g3258 and gts 250.
jumpet from 29992 to 30254
I'm using an G3258 and HD5770 got 28k with out oc. Not many variations in score, maybe you guys are to powerful.
3570K and crossfire 4890
2700k and 750ti Gigabyte)))
30250...
re-run... re-run... re-run...
Lack of time to perform 3D mark 05 at all. I hope I'll be lucky on saturday and reach necessary score. Will try gtx750 and Pentium. How do you think is it good VGA for getting success or I should use other VGA?
I received exactly 30000 points
))
This makes me very sad...
GPU should be fine, then it's just about the CPU clock and quite a bit of luck.
My scores seem more stable after disabling the Superfetch service. Less than 100 points variation
Anyone else want to try?
You benched with SFE and prefetch on in the first place!?
Lol yes... Explains alot.
Please guys, check that your fetches are disabled and save yourself a lot of time
Can't find options for that in the Z97-SOC bios
did you try ctrl+f1?
Otherwise you can disable it in windows directly.
Haha that old combination was the first keys to hit with K8NXP-sli or DS3P but not on SOC...options simply seem to be missing.
On my Z87X-SOC, ctrl+F1 was working
I got 2 times 30256... and 30258
Thought about Pi 32M is killing me
I am having a hart time to hit this score whit one gpu, like moste of us. So how hard whil it be whit 4 gpu's
So a challenge for all the 4x titan / 780ti / 980/ r9 290x / r9 280x or 2x titan-z / 7990 / r9 295x2 users.
Try to hit this score.if the gpu's can run so low. lol
Good luck to everyone still running, and especially good luck to everyone when submitting on Sunday
A whole lot of luck floating around in this comp
haven't got VGA yet. Seems it will be hard Saturday for me )
Who needs VGA ? ow I gave it away
Yesterday i have make som runs whit superfetch disabeld.and no big changes.
But this morning i re start the system and i a was not abel to hit 25k in 05 and in cat 720p it was +-1,2K.
now after setting it back on auto and a power down and a re start i am back to +30k and +-2,6k in cat 720p
this all whit same gpu and cpu speed.
If i have another score at 216 or 238 i may go bonkers and tear it apart.
hell
received 30257
computer freezes during the captures
made a photo, but they are not enough?
I am done whit stage 3 countles re-runs and stil no match but i am close and i am happy whit it
So its time to prep stage 4 and agen days of re-run , re-run ...
That's correct, a photo isn't valid.
So after a day non stop re-run after re-run whit superPi.It's time to take a brake.
tomorow the finel bit of tweaking
I will fail as well...seven days of re-running...256...258...255...254....I got them all but not "the one"...
Still gonna play poke-pi next week...
I am another member of the, " I tried hard but I failed club".
30253, good enough for a lucky draw submit.
On to NeXT stage. already within +-1s.
I posted the result in 8:59:50 . it was adopted only at 09:02 ...
Too slow again haha.
Was hoping I win so I don't have to run SPi 32M until it runs out of my ears x_x
Looks as if were on to it another week or so.
Yes looks like it. Chances still looks best for winning the lucky draw.
According to submission ID's I.nfraR.ed was first, QuantumX second and OLDcomer 3rd.
2664850, 2664851, 2664852
Please give me access to this link:
http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_4.jpg
Congratz to those that nailed it, 3 nites and almost 100 runs later 30256 and 30258 and ofcourse 30275
New background available: http://news.hwbot.org/Competitions/1008_GigabyteTargetOc/target_paticipants_1920x1080_4.jpg
already going on 20.27.***
For fun could we have server submit log like for previous stages please ?
Need
20min 27sec 578ms
or
20min 27sec 570ms ???
Corekt me if i am wrong.but i think 20min 27sec 571ms is ok, But 20min 27sec 569ms is not ok.
+100500????????????
20мин 27sec 578ms с Opteron 146 90 нм на 3590MHz
http://hwbot.org/submission/546701
I think the error is on the wallpaper.
Gigabyte Target OC Competition - the only place where it's possible for AMD to beat Intel
lol
The target is 20min 27sec 570ms, sorry for the confusion. The press release, the competition page and the competition background are all correct.
I saw a request for this earlier in the thread ...
On background:
"Stage 4: SUPEPR PI 32M" - is correct?? )))
)))
that feeling when you submit score 1s too late and come 3rd in a contest
this secret protective symbol
Thanks
Excuse me, could anybody clarify this
or higher? So participants should reach >= 20min27sec570mc, am I right?,571 - ok. ,570 - ok, ,569 - not valid
thanks bro! :celebration:
it makes me very angry...
what, you dont count cpu frequency?
lol just kidding, no one counts cpu frequency.
you can have it for Catzilla?
Catzilla needs key? Never used that benchmark.
You can unlock the 720p benchmark by just registering for free on their site
I'm curious did anybody manage to reach necessary time? I mean exactly 2m20sec570ms.
not me but i am close 20m 27s 5xxms
and i am happy whit it.so i am ready for the final stage
Looks promising ) Can't catch 5xx ms, but I haven't tryed too much.
it was agen days of re run after re run whit diferent settings,i matched 3 times the same 20m 27s 5xx ms whit 3 diferent settings but never the 20m 27s 570ms.
closest above the target is 20m 27s 519ms
Ouch,darn close.
Room for improvement.Still running superpi until closing time.
Everybody is running )
still running too-))
Seems I can say congrats to my friend Alexey! :celebration:
It was so close...
Thanks bro!
Best score was on Monday..... a week didn't improve
I saw I was getting nowhere fast so I just stopped the first time I got within 1 second of the score.
Couldn't bear to sit and wait for 20min each time...
Hopefully Catzilla will be easier to reach. Good luck to everyone for the last stage!

Congratz man, started to run last nite, epicly failed as I though the target was 20 min 27 750 ,instead of 570 lol, so I deleted a few better scores. Amazing to see people can almost reach this one, hardest stage so far for me, even more difficult than 3D05
congrats to hit it so close. now time to re do it whit the mad cat
Good luck guys!
I found this stage more interesting than previous and especially than 3dmark 05
the score is agen all over the place.same settikng give runs in the 18xx , 19xx and some times 20xx.so good luck to all for the last stage
1935
Managed to get each run 20m27sec, but getting 5xx ms needs good counting skill and a lot of care, because you have to be attentive and react fast if SuperPi runs faster than in necessary. Also this stage needed tons of time and luck )
first run 1930
))
agen no need for a verification link?
Is new background available?
Yes, here
Do we need verification link or something like that for stage 5? I mean upload my score on official Catzilla site. Never used this benchmark, sorry for stupid question.
Not need.
Did anybody manage to get exactly 1938 points? If no, how close are you?
for the moment 1939 above target and 193x below target.stil working on it
I've noticed big difference in scores between each runs, hard to match with 1938 as for me.
idd the difference in each run is big.same settings give me runs of +2k , 1.9k and 1.8k.
edit:
just dropet from 1946 to 1866
same story, mb I need slower VGA.
what gpu ar you using?i use a gts 250
gtx750 and downclocked g3258
bingo i just naild it
good luck to the rest
sad, hoped nobody did it ) Still trying.
Don't give up.
I was thinking to give up for today and this happend
Now hoping thad if ther ar other whit the 1938 score.thad my internet conetion speed is good. For me its just for fun
I just need to cut half of my current score - even 580 is too heavy here hahahahaha
Can always hope for a luckydraw.
this one looks hard to hit, should be interesting seeing how many people end up getting a match
haha 580 too heavy, don't hear that often
I'm not giving up. Just dissapointed of that fact that this stage is doable. I mean matching with score. I found super pi stage most interesting from others because nobody hit exactly the same score and nobody knew till the end of stage whether somebody managed to get 570ms or not
Forgive Skullstation, he's Belgian
r7 240 & xxxxx cpu first run 1938!!!!!!
nice!my vga hd 4600! try for 1938
Thanks a lot Gigabyte for hosting this, it has been tremendous fun!!
Why you wrote it has been? It is still fun
Score is set mate and no I won't get up at 6 to submit
Just enjoyed myself, doesn't always need to be high tech nor high end...
Should we have higher or lower than target for this stage?
I have 1937 and don't feel like running anymore...
Rules say try to reach 1938 marks but not higher, so you're ok
Aah thank goodness!
Cheerz man
Looks like I wasn't the only one with an overpowered GPU,
First run, with gpu and cpu clocks super low, 7.5k
Wow, 1937 was easy. Hit it 2 times, but I'm not planning to submit nothing but 1938 score if I succeed.
8800GTS 512 here was over and done in an hour, had to adjust CPU speed more than GPU clocks
All you guys actually brought a car to a bicycle race.
You'll see what I mean when you see my sub.
I found a GT 450 that I pulled from a HTPC a few weeks back, first run is 1950. So I was able the score down a little. And yeah, cpu clocks to the area, then gpu clocks to finish.
Seems than worse GPU you have than easy you can reach the score. I killed about three days tryed to get 1938 with GTX750, downclocked to the low limit everything(g3258, memory, VGA) and even saw artifacts and had troube with stability of system. But get proper score with VGA at stock frequencies without any issues, just started time by time catzilla.
Second ((( Damn
thx gigabyte for this contest.congrats to all the winners.
dam
submitted at 7:00 Belgium time and whit the countdown at 2 hours, but it was to fast acording the site.so needed second submition and i am 7th
+1.
Nice to have a competition that's a little bit different in the benchmarks and doesn't need top line hardware/cooling to even be in the running.
Thanks Gigabyte for the competition.
And for the guys, I was easily able to hit the target score using Intel HD4000 graphics.
No dGpu & re-runs necessary.
Congrats to the Winners and thank you GIGABYTE for this competition,it has been fun.
True that, nice to have something different with ES enabled and no real use of them
+2 now it's time to have all fingers crossed for the good lucky draw
Swiss and Bulgarian internet providers win
look forward to final result and croosed my fingers :ws:
Based on the submission id's fgi should be first, but everything will be 100% sure after the official log. Just like in the previous stages.
Congratulations to the winners!
Arghhhh my submission wouldn't submit. We were meant to submit a score on the money or lower? Kept saying I needed a URL but it wasn't a top 20 score.
Guess thats what I get for leaving it late (grocery shopping and then cooking dinner for family......) Hulk sad.
So who won in stage five?
I want to ask the same.
Thanks Gigabyte for an interesting contest.
Great Contest... waiting Lucky draw...
FGI wins this one!
Will you be drawing the lucky dip prizes soon, too?
Yes Sir
Congrats FGI, hope I'll be lucky in lucky draw.
when the lucky draw winners will be announced?
Soon, we are going over the submissions now.
Thanks Massman
36 participants for 5 boards)))
i have no time to count, but if you're true^ then the odds are high! lol
All participants are 59 minus 5 stage winners, therefore we've got 54 participants for 5 boards.
EDIT:
"To enter the lucky draw, participant must submit a score in at least 4 stages."
Wow, I missed that. Too bad.
I reviewed the 5 rounds and made the final table without the 5 winners Tours
25 people participated in all 5 rounds
and 11 people in 4 rounds
Good luck to all for the lucky draw!
So we went over all the submissions to exclude the faulty ones (bad verification, poor screenshot) and compiled a list of Target OCers who participated in four or more stages. A lucky draw will be done amongst them using the Random.org list randomizer. Of course the Stage Winners will be excluded from the drawing.
ar this all the users who is in for the lucky draw ? what happend whit leeghoofd and the oter thad have 5 submissions?
good luck to all
It's possible that the submission was not valid. For example:
- http://hwbot.org/submission/2670640_ : screenshot doesn't show if it's the right background
- http://hwbot.org/submission/2670665_ : no mainboard tab shown
Massman you miss one my stage. PMed.
the mistake of leeghoofs is a good sampel why i gave hint for other colerbackgound and not a other fonds coler post#38.
his shortcut of the background is showen in the screen.
but rueles ar ther to folow and it happens thad ther ar some mistakes.
sorry for all whit littel mistakes
Why I'm not in the list ???
your cat 720 , hwbot prime and xtu subissions don't have the coret background or the esential part of the backgrount is hided ,same mistake like leeghoofd
i should have 5 not 4, but at least im on the list.
http://hwbot.org/submission/2653700
http://hwbot.org/submission/2659229
http://hwbot.org/submission/2664908
http://hwbot.org/submission/2670565
http://hwbot.org/submission/2675952
http://hwbot.org/submission/2659229
Missing mainboard tab.
P.S or may be not.
Why am I not in the list??
Because I got Speedstep enabled in all submissions?
Here is my original screenshot for stage five, if Massmant ment that it has poor quality.
"All submissions must include the stage’s dedicated wallpaper. A new wallpaper will be released at the beginning of each stage."
It will be good and fair(a little bit professional perhaps also) to specify it before and non after the end ...
Massman, why am I not on the list?
checked all my 4 submittions and all are ok, all have proper backround plus all tabs
So many complaints....
It's gonna take forever for the winners to be announced
You don't see your work(many days to hit the target) destroy by a mysterious point at the end it seems
To be clear I don't care about the lucky draw, since the beginning I was totally aware there was only little percents of chance to win something but I read somewhere there's a road to "professionalize" the discipline wich was started like in the e-sport gaming and I don't think the end of this contest goes in that way.
Another detail: ok it's easy with little windowed benchs to show a large area of wallpaper but in the case of big windowed ones like XTU and Catz how big is the remaining wallpaper area when all the neccessary CPUZ+GPUZ windows are open for guys(like me) who are using 1280x1024 17" screen ...
Crico...
Here is an example of using a 17 "monitor 1280*1024 in Catzilla - 720p - http://img.hwbot.org/u8353/image_id_1287772.jpeg
Yep if it was clearly specify somewhere in the rules I was able to do the same...
So one the 32M screenshot you only see a minimalistic part of the purple score thingy and hence for not showing that part completely I got not added to the list
Pretty hard to move 32M when it's done :nana:
You really owe me some (read at least 5) Irish Coffees PJ
PS: And I was going to donate the LN2 board to Doc.Brown...
Mainboard tab is on the 2nd screenshot so it should be corrected
I think they ar talking intern if it is possibel to alow the scores whit littel mistakes.
@ leeghoofd, now i see the purpel strip. nede to adjust the angle of my monitor.sorry to jump whit my conclusion.
no problem Skullie, I just want some free beers from PJ on Friday
*sniff* THANK YOU GIGABYTE and HWBOT for the awesomeness that is my lucky dip prize.
Oh,you're my Santa Claus ! :nana:
So... Has the winners been announced?
QuantumX, won the friendship! )))))
Hahaha
So looks like the draw is going to take a while.
Winners have been contacted from Gigabyte, so presumably they all need to confirm before announced here?
Blows for me because I forgot to update my contact info. Last week I lost control over my email account (thank you comcast) So if anyone from Gigabyte sees this please use my updated email! Thank you for awesome competition!
Oh okay.
Thanks for the update.
No email or PM from gigabyte in my inbox. so i guess,no luck for my.
good luck to all
Perhaps this is trolling and we shouldn't lose hope
here will not be posted winning motherboards? we have to wait on an email from Gigabyte?
Hey guys,
I'm sorry for those who had faulty submissions screenshots. Sadly we can't change the submissions after the competition to keep it fair to everyone.
The lucky draw was done on Wednesday and we forwarded the emails to GIGABYTE. The winners should have been contacted by now and they will be announced in the Press Release of the competition (which I should be posting right now).
Stay tuned for the next competition!
