If we are selected, we will receive free accomodation or something like that?

December 7, 2014 at 1:12:30 AM UTC

No, this is primarily for overclockers who are already attending CES. For those attending, there's the option the bench on the freestyle day. But you have to already be at CES.

so to apply we submit top memory?

December 9, 2014 at 1:58:38 AM UTC

Yeah, just your best kingston/hyperx memory clock and then the list is drawn randomly

December 12, 2014 at 2:30:36 PM UTC

So in reality you just have to use Kingston/hyperx memory and do a frequency submission to grab one of the open seats? No problem just confirming. :)

December 15, 2014 at 6:16:47 AM UTC

Correct, it's as simple and open as that :)

No this is an invitation for overclockers who are already going to CES.

No one called anyone such a name. Please don't talk this way ...

Just to clarify, I think the misunderstanding come from the highest level of embargo by the US (targeting 5 countries including Iran) being called "State Sponsors of Terrorism", the US Department of State gave it this name not Kingston.

We really misjudged how serious the subject was and the implications it can have for any US company. Kingston put a lot of effort for clarifying the situation between the end of the EMEA qualifier and the last communication with the Iranian contestants, it was reviewed by the legal departments and advisors back and forth.

For more information on the sanctions you can look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_embargoes#Countries

Again it is very unfortunate we can't have Varand at the Finals in Vegas but it is completely out of our control... His spot at the Finals will not be filled by someone else.

Ahh this sucks, sorry to hear.

Too bad the USA is so stringent "protecting" us. Shame

Political decisions make me sick...

Sad news indeed, less issue in doing this in Taiwan... or closer in Canada * wink wink *

Thing put apart, There is nothing Kingston could do about this at it come from the GVT iself :/

The issue is not the location of the finals but that Kingston Technology is a US company and because of that has to follow the US department of State policies.

@marmott

tnx for your explaining but! we spend many time and cost for this competition, if iranian will not allowed at final, kingston must reported to HWbot and HWbot make a news (because of that we dont know HWbot adminastator as a responsible), after End of competition beside of not fair play, kingston easily said you cant be at final + we cant send your prize! our team like others team never waste their time and many but now happend and explain is not enough dude, kingston can Compensate the costs anyway!

Indeed. that is actually a bit ore difficult, i was thinking in a way it wouldbe taiwanese company with 'branch office"...

Anyway similar things happenned in the past at other competition with countries not able to display their flag because of this kind of political issues :(
