Rookie Rumble #20

Welcome to the Rookie Rumble! We assume you arrived here via XTU and that’s great but the OC world offers much more. The Rumble introduces you to the concept of competitive overclocking. It’s a contest only for new overclockers like you. Good luck!

There are three stages, each with the same hardware restrictions but featuring a different benchmark. The benchmarks are: XTU, HWBOT Prime, and GPUPI for CPU - 100M. You can gather points by submitting in each of the three stages. The better the result, the more points you acquire and the higher you'll rank overall! Note that the validation process for the benchmarks is slightly different. Check out the rules section to learn more or drop us a message on our forums if you have a question.

Good Luck to All Rookies.

Small note: from this round forward it's no longer allowed to use Xeon CPUs in the Rookie Rumble. Also, we will be checking for double accounts more closely.

Can you redo scores and get a higher overall score in the rookie rumble? I'm just curios, I probably won't stand a chance when the 5960x on dice come out of hiding along with a pentium...

You can submit as many scores as you want, Br3tt96. Especially if you're improving your score :).

Dry ice isn't allowed in this competition as that would push you straight into the Extreme League and this competition is only for Rookies.

I'm too lazy to go buy dry ice and make a pot. : /

Plz make sure for HWBOT prime, no runs on Windows 8 or later due to RTC bug.

For the score validation: make sure the needed CPU tabs are opened in the screenshot. A tip for HWBOT prime: move the save window around first than press the save button. This will make sure the HWBOT prime score is visible in the screenshot.

Keep on pushing it!

What is this RTC bug in win8

Can someone please clarify the Windows 8 exclusion please. Slightly misleading as the links to the rules are wrong. HWBOT verification rules point to xtu rules and GPUPI rules point to MaxxMem regs. Took me a few to notice this. Please fix, Thanks! Salud

It would be awesome if this was updated in the rules sooner rather than later. If it was already done, thanks!

Ah, good point.

We are allowing Xeons, just no CPUs with >8 cores or multi socket

Can someone please let me know how to get a screenshot of my HWBOT Prime Benchmark so my submission doesn't get rejected again? When I press the save button, it saves a file to my desktop, but it's not a screenshot. Actually, I have no idea what kind of file it is.

August 13, 2015 at 9:51:45 AM UTC

The file includes a screenshot inside ^^

It's this one you have to upload on this page : http://hwbot.org/submit/benchmark/hwbot_prime/

Keep attention to the "file choose" window when saving the score, it can mask infos on screenshot sometimes :/
