Rookie Rumble AMD #31

Welcome to the Rookie Rumble! We assume you arrived here via as an AMD fan and that’s great but the OC world offers more. The Rumble introduces you to competitive overclocking. It’s a contest only for new overclockers like you. Good luck!

There are three stages, each with the same hardware restrictions but featuring a different benchmark. The benchmarks are: CPU % OC, HWBOT Prime, and GPUPI for CPU - 100M. You can gather points by submitting in each of the three stages. The better the result, the more points you acquire and the higher you'll rank overall! Note that the validation process for the benchmarks is slightly different. Check out the rules section to learn more or drop us a message on our forums if you have a question.

  • Download and install Java (just under 60MB) from the downloads page of the java website. For 64-bit windows you want 'Windows Offline (64-bit)', for 32-bit you want 'Windows Offline'.
  • Download and extract the benchmark's .zip file from the competition page.
  • With java installed, the .jar file should run when double-clicked. If not you may need to right-click and tell it to open with java.
  • Click 'quick benchmark' to run.
  • Set the javaw.exe process priority to high and run it again for a slightly better score (high priority and running twice both help in my experience).
  • Open your CPU-Z CPU and Memory tabs
  • Click the 'Save' button. You'll be prompted to save a data file - AFTER you name the file and press save again a screenshot is taken as part of the data file so keep those CPU-Z windows open until it tells you it's successfully saved the data file
  • Open the competition page, click the 'submit score' button and upload that data file!

Another tip, move that save window well away from the HWBOT prime score and CPU-Z tabs before pressing SAVE. If not it could be your hwbot prime score is not visible and will be removed by them xxxxx moderators

Win7 is best for most platforms... haven't benched it on real old cpus though, but XP works

just ditch this epic bunnyextraction benchmark, no point to fight with it, it should be banned long time ago with maxmem and other epic junk benchmarks

You go to hwbot and go to submit result-> hwbotprime, then a windows appears which shows upload data file, and you use the file you saved and submit.

Edit OK, seems this already worked :D
