This is the reason why I've been trying to figure out if Bulldozer is somewhat competitive in 3DMark11. Turns out a Thuban will suffice ... :-P

How is belgium ever gonna get 5 scores together : This proves Massman is really french

what about switzerland ?

There is only 4 active benchers :D

How is belgium ever gonna get 5 scores together : This proves Massman is really french

Massman, Pt1t, Gamer, Leeghoofd, Teemto, Chiller, Cornerjack, ...

November 8, 2011 at 7:20:03 PM UTC

Can I add additional rule?

- HWBOT staff is not allowed to participate :P

Anyone agree? Raise your hand.

November 8, 2011 at 7:53:00 PM UTC

- HWBOT staff is not allowed to participate :P
Then Belgium's out .. all of it.

but seriously, I don't think it'd be fair for men who thought of the challenges to participate in a very time-limited contest as additional information on what stage X is going to be gives them an unfair advantage

November 8, 2011 at 8:10:10 PM UTC

Those dates right? 19th of nov till 30th of dec for stage 1?

Yeah.. Staff should never compete imo. We never let staff play on OCN, could rig the comp :P

November 8, 2011 at 8:34:04 PM UTC

researched already...

team.belgium for sure will be team.tones? sponsored country ?

men who thought of the challenges

Not men. Man ... :P

November 8, 2011 at 8:48:45 PM UTC

Stage II it's a Lightning time ;) I have a good one :)

November 8, 2011 at 9:02:42 PM UTC

Not men. Man ... :P

Yeah he kept every info for him, other men of the Staff did not know about this challenge before

November 8, 2011 at 9:58:09 PM UTC

Level 3 1 user, 1 score. Is only valid the 1st score uploaded? Or can be replaced at any time during the competition.

Looks awesome :)

November 8, 2011 at 10:03:39 PM UTC

The ranking will update automatically. So, if you post 1000p score the first day and a 20k score the last day, the 20k score will count.

November 8, 2011 at 11:40:52 PM UTC

MultiGPU is allowed in last stage?

November 9, 2011 at 12:25:12 AM UTC

I think rules r 2 "easy" for Holidays and because of this lot of ppl will participate .... altleast Belguim. Now serious, this competition will not acumulate more ppl with current rules.

November 9, 2011 at 3:16:25 AM UTC

I'm game, looking back I think I have hardware for every bench too.

November 9, 2011 at 5:03:15 AM UTC

nice to have redmax on the US team

wooooooo

November 9, 2011 at 7:47:40 AM UTC

Go Go Belgium :)

November 9, 2011 at 7:54:06 AM UTC

OK , i will do that effort for my country :D

November 9, 2011 at 8:12:59 AM UTC

MultiGPU is allowed in last stage?

AMD 3D11 stage is full-out. That's why only one person per country needs to set a score and has 40 days for it :)

November 9, 2011 at 12:47:58 PM UTC

And it's still tough to do here. A lot of money involved and too hard without sponsors.

November 9, 2011 at 1:16:35 PM UTC

I miss a stage with hardware limitation: ATI 5xxx which is very popular among bitcoin nerds.

November 9, 2011 at 1:36:03 PM UTC

This competition is more mainstream oriented than the other 2. I really liked the first one to be honest, not sure if we will participate

November 9, 2011 at 1:45:05 PM UTC

More mainstream?

I was worried at first that I made it too extreme ... :P

November 9, 2011 at 1:51:06 PM UTC

A bunch of SSD drives bundled with some fancy ARECA controller card or a bunch of GTX580/HD6990 are mainstream? Wow!

November 9, 2011 at 2:18:11 PM UTC

Stage VI says 1/2/4/6/8 CPU's, so that mean we can use servers with multiple sockets in this stage?

November 9, 2011 at 2:32:06 PM UTC

Stage VI says 1/2/4/6/8 CPU's, so that mean we can use servers with multiple sockets in this stage?

Stage VI requires you to run 1 score with a 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8xCPU (cores). How you accomplish this is upto you. You can:

- run an eight-core server CPU

- unlock a dual core to quad core

- run a dual quad core setup

- ...

(ps: 8xCPU does not mean you need to run a setup with 8 CPUs)

November 9, 2011 at 2:38:08 PM UTC

And what is considered as a quad core? X4 955 and 2500K or 2600K? Maybe three of them. I see "effective cores", but can't assimilate that. Same for X1, X2 and X6.

Unlocking is allowed, but what about switching off cores? I guess not.

November 9, 2011 at 2:39:05 PM UTC

Same rules count as in the normal rankings.

- X4 955 = quad core

- 2500K = quad core

- 2600K = quad core

November 9, 2011 at 3:11:39 PM UTC

And Bulldozer counts as 8-core? What about disabling cores for Stage VI?

November 9, 2011 at 3:13:17 PM UTC

Bulldozer FX-8150 is an 8-core.

Disabling cores is not allowed in the normal rankings so also not allowed in the Country Cup.

November 9, 2011 at 3:30:05 PM UTC

remove the 8core :)

November 9, 2011 at 3:47:57 PM UTC

A bunch of SSD drives bundled with some fancy ARECA controller card or a bunch of GTX580/HD6990 are mainstream? Wow!

By mainstream I meant something different from what you understood. I see less skill needed for this competion, if you have the hardware needed or the money to buy it -> you're set :)

November 9, 2011 at 3:57:24 PM UTC

Yep, half of the stages are simply that. No SuperPi this year e.g, many will miss it.

November 9, 2011 at 4:01:12 PM UTC

The PCMark7 stage is probably the one which requires the most $$ to compete (as you need 3 scores). However, I think you can work around that by having a team session and combine the SSDs you have. That's just team work.

The AMD stage also requires some $$, but you only need one score per country. Surely someone in the country has 3 or 4 cards to run it with.

November 9, 2011 at 4:12:26 PM UTC

shouldn't the scoring be the other way around - 10pts for the stage where only one man's effort is needed and 25pts for five ?

November 9, 2011 at 4:34:49 PM UTC

The idea behind giving more points to stages which require less people is that it's not always easy to find 5 people with 'highly competitive' scores. So, we put more stress on the stages for which you need less quantity and more quality scores.

November 9, 2011 at 5:20:58 PM UTC

Hi all!

PJ, can you tell me - we need 5 different dualcore CPUs - e.g. Wolfdale + Conroe + Allendale + Regor + Callisto - or we need - E8600 + E8500 + E6850 + Phenom II X2 555 + Phenom II X2 560?

November 9, 2011 at 5:24:26 PM UTC

For the "Dual Core UCBench2011"-stage, you need 5 scores on 5 different setups with the setup defined by the cpu core.

So, Wolfdale + Conroe + Allendale + Regor + Callisto would be allowed.

November 9, 2011 at 5:36:53 PM UTC

is it the country you are, or country of team ?

can somebody also submit for another country?

November 9, 2011 at 7:20:58 PM UTC

So submit for Belgium ;)

Matose - stop giving people false hope :)

We have the hardware and the "mainstream" level is not an issue, you can never have ideeal rules. The only issue is if we have the time and if we want to do this 3rd time in a row. After all, the we proved our point twice, maybe it is time for others to win too :)

Single GPU to 3DM11???

you have to beat this, http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33196

which is so fair lol. but i think you'll put the gpus on subzero

November 14, 2011 at 6:29:40 AM UTC

Dunno if this has been asked, but is a laptops CPU and GPU considered to be IGP? For example a GT550, HD6870M or similar???

you have to beat this, http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33196

which is so fair lol. but i think you'll put the gpus on subzero

No, because:

- I don't have the background yet

- I won't have the cards for much longer

- The cards won't go on LN2

- I'm not allowed to compete anyway, i guess

:P

Dunno if this has been asked, but is a laptops CPU and GPU considered to be IGP? For example a GT550, HD6870M or similar???

They are only considered integrated if the VGA is either inside the CPU or inside the chipset.

Most laptop gpus are actually not integrated, I think.

November 18, 2011 at 1:19:30 PM UTC

Merged the announcement with the official thread linked to the competition.

but seriously, I don't think it'd be fair for men who thought of the challenges to participate in a very time-limited contest as additional information on what stage X is going to be gives them an unfair advantage

I'll give you a compromise. I won't:

- do the AMD 3DMark11 stage

- provide a 'best' result in any of the 6 other stages

So, I'll help a bit, but won't be 'decisive' in any of the stages. Sounds good?

you have to beat this, http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33196

Cards are gone and I just finished the competition background. The team will have to figured something else out!

November 18, 2011 at 1:38:21 PM UTC

IMO Massman should still be allowed to participate for Belgium - also for the best scores. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to take part...

November 18, 2011 at 2:09:13 PM UTC

^I agree

Let the poor bastard play

November 18, 2011 at 2:40:27 PM UTC

For the early birds, download the background now

November 18, 2011 at 4:01:34 PM UTC

lets get it ohhhnnnn!!!

November 18, 2011 at 4:14:31 PM UTC

If the issue is that massman "knows" the stage details before everyone else, a simple solution is to announce stage details earlier in general - also for the monthly challenges.:)

November 18, 2011 at 4:35:21 PM UTC

thats what i've said. even RB is suggesting it lol

November 18, 2011 at 4:43:22 PM UTC

Hehe. I don't plan the month challenges weeks ahead. On average, 1 to 3 days before the competition actually airs ... ;)

November 18, 2011 at 5:28:39 PM UTC

What happen if for example in the UCBench stage, only one user upload score? Is that valid?

November 18, 2011 at 6:07:24 PM UTC

What happen if for example in the UCBench stage, only one user upload score? Is that valid?

Yes. In fact, your country will still be ranked. However, any country with more scores, how bad they may be, will be ranked higher automatically.

November 18, 2011 at 7:20:36 PM UTC

Excellent, thanks for the info.

November 18, 2011 at 9:28:30 PM UTC

With UCbench, is it possible to use a i5-655k? (2c4t)?

November 18, 2011 at 9:29:39 PM UTC

Yeap. That's a dual core CPU :)

November 19, 2011 at 5:22:49 AM UTC

CPU dual core can't arrive at time for the UCbench stage, it's only one week....looking for another option.

November 19, 2011 at 9:24:55 AM UTC

Well....whats the stand on core disabling? is it allowed?

November 19, 2011 at 9:39:36 AM UTC

Core disabling is not allowed for 'any' ranking at HWBOT, so also not allowed for the Country Cup :)

November 19, 2011 at 3:02:53 PM UTC

When I press Finland, I get a 404 error.. :(

November 19, 2011 at 4:37:00 PM UTC

How does it work for the average if say only 4 people from a country participate? The average may be higher than a country with 5 participants. Will they still be considered higher in the ranking because the average is higher? Does it rank based on number of valid entries and then by average?

November 19, 2011 at 5:33:55 PM UTC

How does it work for the average if say only 4 people from a country participate? The average may be higher than a country with 5 participants. Will they still be considered higher in the ranking because the average is higher? Does it rank based on number of valid entries and then by average?

The countries are ranking by:

- amount of scores

- average of scores

So, a team with bad average but with all 5 scores will always be ranked higher than a team with great average but only 4 scores.

November 20, 2011 at 9:04:08 AM UTC

Heyo!

A little question, can somebody make several submissions? And the best one count?

Or is it one shot?

November 20, 2011 at 9:24:51 AM UTC

You can make several submissions and the engine will detect your best one.

Do note, though, that tactics also come in play. You need to communicate with fellow countrymen so you're sure you don't block anyone else's best score. For instance:

- User A: 1500p with GTX285, 1450p with GTX275

- User B: 1499p with GTX285, 1300p with GTX275

- User C: 1400p with GTX280, 1200p with GTX275

The engine will calculate: AVG of GTX285 (user A) + GTX280 (user C) + GTX275 (user B) = 1400p. However, since user A has a much better score with the GTX275 than user B, the smart thing to do would be for user A to not submit with his GTX285 but leave that for User B. The, the engine will see:

- User A: 1450p with GTX275

- User B: 1499p with GTX285, 1300p with GTX275

- User C: 1400p with GTX280, 1200p with GTX275

And the result would be: AVG (1499p (285) + 1400p (280) + 1450p (275)) = 1449.66p

This kind of tactics are only necessary on the very last day of a stage, though. You can just submit all scores now and afterwards check which you're going to use for the final score.

November 20, 2011 at 9:37:06 AM UTC

Thank for that complete answer mister Massman :)

November 20, 2011 at 10:33:08 AM UTC

This kind of tactics are only necessary on the very last day of a stage, though.

Unless you're not playing the backup game and submit your best score right away :)

November 20, 2011 at 10:36:52 AM UTC

It's technically not a "backup game" if you don't submit your lesser scores first. You're describing the "sandbagging game" :D

November 20, 2011 at 10:43:43 AM UTC

Pardon my ignorance, I'm not familiar with the devious ways of pro overclockers...

November 20, 2011 at 4:32:15 PM UTC

it's real good, that a core i7 920 with 2c/2t or even a 2500k with 2 cores enabled, doesn't fullfill " use 2 cores in total " ....

November 20, 2011 at 6:46:11 PM UTC

can´t make a submission, every time i try, it means, i have no verification link but i have one

November 20, 2011 at 7:13:51 PM UTC

can´t make a submission, every time i try, it means, i have no verification link but i have one

Add/remove the '2011' from the URL and then it should work.

November 21, 2011 at 12:53:31 AM UTC

Is it possible to change the numbers of the stages according to the original diagram?

It's confusing when talking about certain stage.

November 21, 2011 at 8:35:17 AM UTC

I can't change the stages on the competition page (they're all linked up with the limitations etc). I can make another diagram, I think.

Why don't you mention the stages by their title? :P

November 21, 2011 at 9:23:14 AM UTC

I think we shouldn't allow any member to change country when the competition has already started...

November 21, 2011 at 9:30:33 AM UTC

Who changed ?

November 21, 2011 at 12:57:23 PM UTC

(PS: ES not allowed! ) what does it mean?

November 21, 2011 at 1:16:13 PM UTC

You can't use Engineering Samples for this competition. All samples must be retail.

November 21, 2011 at 6:39:04 PM UTC

I have a question for amd 3d11.

Rog Xpander is not retail, is allowed?

November 21, 2011 at 6:49:04 PM UTC

According to Asus, the Xpander is actually retail. So, as we follow the decision of the vendor, it is allowed.

November 22, 2011 at 2:19:20 PM UTC

ES are not allowed even for 3D benchmarks?

I mean I got a 990x ES and a GTX275, I want to compete in Unigine Dx9 stage, we all know that in Unigine with GT200 it won't make the difference. Moreover, 2600K is more efficient.

So I can't submit in this stage with the only cpu I own?

November 22, 2011 at 9:02:30 PM UTC

I'm in the same position as you mate... don't think it will be allowed, ES is ES no matter if for 2 or 3D... and that's all Kenny fault :P

November 22, 2011 at 10:11:10 PM UTC

Arf, it dosen't sounds good to me so...

November 22, 2011 at 10:19:50 PM UTC

No ES allowed, not even for 3D stages.

November 23, 2011 at 9:16:09 AM UTC

Is turning off tesselation allowed in 3dm11..?

November 23, 2011 at 3:15:51 PM UTC

What is the real deadline for UCbench stage? Diagram says 28th, the stage title reads "6 days to go", but it's written on the details "UCBench 2011 is open untill 30 November".

November 23, 2011 at 3:19:07 PM UTC

30th is the correct date.

The competition page is ALWAYS right. Even if you think it's wrong, it's right :D.

November 23, 2011 at 3:20:07 PM UTC

Is turning off tesselation allowed in 3dm11..?

Yeap.

November 23, 2011 at 3:29:34 PM UTC

Thanks for clarification, Pieter :)

November 23, 2011 at 8:39:25 PM UTC

Thnx:)

Stage 7 require AMD for both processor and GPU?

November 24, 2011 at 2:32:01 AM UTC

Unlocking cores for UCBench isn't allowed?

November 24, 2011 at 4:26:59 AM UTC

Stage 7 require AMD for both processor and GPU?

No, only for CPU.

Unlocking cores for UCBench isn't allowed?

AFAIK disable cores isn't allowed but enable cores van be do it without problems.

November 24, 2011 at 5:53:22 AM UTC

2 core CPU unlocked 4 core CPU allowed??? о_О

November 24, 2011 at 7:34:56 AM UTC

Use 2 processor core(s) in total.

You must have a total of 2 cores after unlocking - you can unlock a Sempron to 2 cores, but you can't unlock a Phenom II X2 to 4 cores.

November 24, 2011 at 11:22:43 AM UTC

Stage 1: "Averange of top 5 scores by 5 users with 5 different setups"

why is for example united kingdom with a avg of 259,67 better than indonesia with a avg of 377,05? Oô

does avg of top 5 count or the summ?

November 24, 2011 at 11:57:40 AM UTC

Yes, 5 people is more important than 3 people with better score

November 24, 2011 at 1:13:38 PM UTC

2 core CPU unlocked 4 core CPU allowed??? о_О

It's allowed for a stage that needs four cores (i.e wPrime)

November 24, 2011 at 7:09:55 PM UTC

What's up with the unigine problem ?

We can't run DX9 heaven as it freezes at scene7 .

That happens always even at stock clocks .

With 580 and 5870 no problem . But with 275 & 285 it stops at scene 7 . Tried with winxp , vista & win7

Is there a workaround ?

November 24, 2011 at 8:21:38 PM UTC

I had this one as well, did not manage to fix it afaik

November 24, 2011 at 8:28:00 PM UTC

I've had that with HD4890

November 24, 2011 at 8:47:13 PM UTC

I had it also, but with the normal Processor benchmarks

it works fine

memory related.

lower strap or relax timings will help.

November 24, 2011 at 9:52:59 PM UTC

memory related.

Strap ? At p67 ? I tried also running the CPU at stock clocks and it didn't work .

But ... a few minutes ago i managed to make it work at win7 ! :D

I played a bit with the windows services and i reinstalled the driver . It now works .

I disabled the audio services and that's all :D

At winxp this trick didn't work . At least i have a working OS . :)

I can't understand what is the problem with 1.0.3 version ...I doubt it's the audio services .

November 25, 2011 at 12:23:38 AM UTC

you may need an audio driver and sound card if you don't have onboard audio. There is audio during the benchmark for some reason and if you have no driver perhaps it is causing the crash.

November 25, 2011 at 3:52:06 AM UTC

Tested now. Before crashed at Stage 7 no matter if at stock or not. After installing audio card and drivers no longer crashes at Stage 7. Hope that helps!

November 25, 2011 at 8:34:36 AM UTC

Audio service, huh?

That's interesting!

November 25, 2011 at 12:08:27 PM UTC

Confirmed . :D

There is something wrong with the audio .

Try to enable the sound card and install the drivers . After this , disable the soundcard and the services again.

November 25, 2011 at 1:27:16 PM UTC

Good find guys

November 25, 2011 at 10:26:43 PM UTC

Looks like some use only SSSE3 instructions for UCBENCH and score is still validated on anrieff.net. This help get some more mhz and test runs very fast is this allowed ? or we should run test with def. settings ?

November 25, 2011 at 10:41:51 PM UTC

should be default i guess.

November 25, 2011 at 11:36:19 PM UTC

known trick, why is it a problem?

November 26, 2011 at 4:09:50 AM UTC

Don't you always have to run default? We allowed to run less resolution on 3dMark01 or other 3D now? Changing settings on the benchmark to give better score should be disallowed.

November 26, 2011 at 7:54:16 AM UTC

Submission page says:

Please run UCBench 2011 now at default settings.

November 26, 2011 at 2:50:23 PM UTC

Don't you always have to run default? We allowed to run less resolution on 3dMark01 or other 3D now?

Default 2K1 implies DEFAULT ORDER for GT's too... Prove me wrong.

Changing settings on the benchmark to give better score should be disallowed.

Like I was sayin.

November 26, 2011 at 3:08:37 PM UTC

Default 2K1 implies DEFAULT ORDER for GT's too... Prove me wrong.

Well, for 2k1, you run all GTs right ? Maybe not in the default order but all GTs right?

Here only SSE3 has been run, not all Tests ;)

November 26, 2011 at 3:25:50 PM UTC

The analogy with 3DMark01 is not correct, because all those GTs matter in the score and with UCBench that's not the case.

This is more like the CPU tests in 3DMark03/05 or the Feature tests in 3DMark Vantage. If you don't have a key, the CPU tests will be enabled by default in 03/05, but since they don't have any effect on the final score you just press escape before they start. In Vantage, everyone disables the feature tests in the paid version for the same reason: no effect on the score and might cause instability crash.

The final score of UCBench only depends on the best method to crack a password and for most CPUs that currently seems to be with the SSSE3 instructions. Disabling all the other tests that don't have an effect on the score anyways is completely legit. The method of calculating (= the benchmark) is the same; you just skip all the parts that don't need to run for the score.

For those who want to do it too, just add the following line after the command line in the benchmark application: "-cf=ssse3 test.rar"

November 26, 2011 at 3:40:17 PM UTC

@Ney: I can run all instructions and still get same/+ score:

http://anrieff.net/ucbench/viewitem.php?id=2590

vs

http://anrieff.net/ucbench/viewitem.php?id=2589

Dont even get me to start wdasm.

@Massman: thanks for having common sense!

November 26, 2011 at 4:31:35 PM UTC

With all respect Massman I think you are wrong on this. This is not default settings. Then by rights you should be able to run 3d runs with lower resolutions or less than 32bit or whatever. The bench still runs, the frames still get calculated and the method of calculating is the same. Why run at default res when it gives a lower score?

The other UCbench tests do have an effect on the score, they lower it in some cases, and they should have to be calculated. I would agree with your reasoning if they had no effect on the score but they do. If every chip comes up with the same score with it enabled and disabled then sure leave it out but that is not the case.

Default 2K1 implies DEFAULT ORDER for GT's too... Prove me wrong.

In my opinion it implies nothing of the sort. Default is that you run each. Whatever order has nothing to do with default. If UCBench allowed you to run the SSE tests out of order and that improved your score...have at it. The point being that you ran every SSE test.

November 26, 2011 at 4:41:26 PM UTC

I'd say it's more like LOD for 3d tests, personally.

November 26, 2011 at 4:45:06 PM UTC

I'd say it's more like LOD for 3d tests, personally.

How does removing tests compare to LOD?

November 26, 2011 at 4:49:31 PM UTC

I don't understand the logic behind the comparison this tweak/trick with lowering the resolution on a 3D benchmark. The SSSE3 benchmark test does not change when you run it separately. When you lower the resolution, you do change the benchmark.

As for the performance 'gain' you achieve: you can compare this with the behavior in 3DMark01. When you run, for instance, Nature as first test, the score will be a little bit higher than when you run it as third. The performance increase is not related to the benchmark itself, but due to OS/cache variables.

November 26, 2011 at 4:53:17 PM UTC

Hmm i runing Unbench Phenom II x4 945 4200MHz.Only ssse3 teszt OK.But default settings restart computer the test 80%

Lol.

November 26, 2011 at 4:54:10 PM UTC

I see it as akin to LOD as it is a minor change in score (maybe) that is getting blown all out of proportion.

Seriously though, the score actually used is always going to be the sse3 score anyway, so why run the other stuff?

November 26, 2011 at 4:59:26 PM UTC

What other rules are going to get changed halfway through the stage?

November 26, 2011 at 5:02:06 PM UTC

Bah, I see that I am misunderstanding how the benchmark works. I thought the score was based on some algorithm of each of the tests, not just which ever one is the best of the bunch. Then I have no problem with removing the other tests and your reference to Vantage and the like makes much more sense.

My apologies for the misunderstanding.

November 26, 2011 at 5:05:25 PM UTC

ok :D SSSE3 FTW hehe

November 26, 2011 at 5:28:52 PM UTC

I'm not sure if SSSE3 is always the fastest one, tbh. SSSE4 seems just a tad slower than SSSE3 ... maybe it gets a nicer boost when running that one separately ?

November 26, 2011 at 11:10:51 PM UTC

worth the test

November 27, 2011 at 9:51:24 AM UTC

C'mon Belgium we need some more scores before wednesday !!!

uppppss.. I think E6500, E8200, E5200 etc can submit together :D. Thx Massman. It's mean rule number one is : Use 2 processor core(s) in total with different code name. :)

With the money they sent me this week-end, I can buy a full tray of i7 3960X and start binning :D

November 27, 2011 at 4:27:40 PM UTC

There seems to be a problem with the submissions page :/

A couple of guys are getting an error when trying to add thier validation link..

"* A VERIFICATION LINK IS REQUIRED. - YOUR SUBMISSION DOES NOT COMPLY TO THIS RULE

VERIFICATION URL MUST MATCH PATTERN: http://HTTP://ANRIEFF.NET/UCBENCH2011/VIEWITEM.PHP?\?ID=[0-9?]*"

Even though the link is correct ???

November 27, 2011 at 4:37:32 PM UTC

Add 2011 after ucbench in the link.

/UCBENCH2011/ in the link will match the regular expression, but /UCBENCH/ won't.

November 27, 2011 at 5:19:57 PM UTC

It's a very weird issue. Sometimes you get a different URL, sometimes you get the right URL. :-/

November 27, 2011 at 6:45:11 PM UTC

It's a very weird issue. Sometimes you get a different URL, sometimes you get the right URL. :-/

Then cater for both in the regexp, not hard.

November 28, 2011 at 2:44:04 AM UTC

Massman, what is the cut off time for each stage?

November 28, 2011 at 8:15:09 AM UTC

Timezone is GMT+1. End times are:

30-11-11 12:00:00 - Dual Core UCBench2011

11-12-11 12:00:00 - 3DMark01 IGP

21-12-11 12:00:00 - Wprime 1024M 1,2,4,6,8-Core

30-12-11 23:59:00 - Memory Clock

30-12-11 23:59:00 - AMD 3DMark11 Performance

November 28, 2011 at 11:33:26 AM UTC

Okay, I've updated the HCC2011 scheme with the right Stage indications + detailed cut off times

November 28, 2011 at 2:55:36 PM UTC

Hello guys, is there any problem with the server? Me and my team-mate already tried to submit ucbench score but always getting a server error in the past 1 hour. Did anybody had the same problem?

Thanks,

PS : this is the error i'm getting :

java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException: Dangling meta character '?' near index 52 http://anrieff.net/ucbench[0-9]{0,4}/viewitem.{0,4}??id=[0-9?]* ^

tried add/remove the '2011' but it wont work..

November 28, 2011 at 3:33:38 PM UTC

Can't submit, I get this error for ucbench2011 when submitting in the Country Cup 2011 section.

Pretty sure I have the correct link, http://anrieff.net/ucbench2011/viewitem.php?id=2688

It's a tie.

Belgium still #1 :D.

November 28, 2011 at 6:07:00 PM UTC

Massman, you said backups don't exist in your country, so your Clarkdale score is final?

November 28, 2011 at 6:17:05 PM UTC

hahahahahahaha

November 28, 2011 at 6:31:54 PM UTC

Massman, you said backups don't exist in your country, so your Clarkdale score is final?

It's not my Clarkdale score.

The reason for the possible backup...

they have known the hardware they needed to run months ago when MM mentioned country cup..

no doubt stage1 and stage5 will be belgium's to take...

they even made sure stage3 will include 8core... interesting as other countries won't have this.

Yes. Months ...

November 28, 2011 at 6:49:05 PM UTC

Not yours personally, but Belgium's.

@Honda: Why "8core... interesting as other countries won't have this"? You don't have Bulldozers?

November 28, 2011 at 6:49:33 PM UTC

it was hearsay or it isn't

November 28, 2011 at 7:21:06 PM UTC

Not yours personally, but Belgium's.

I have no idea what Pt1t will do.

We just found out this morning the chip in his PC was actually not an ES, so he could enter to complete our 5/5 scores. We also found out on Saturday my X6800 Conroe was dead and we found out on sunday that my Sempron 145 could unlock.

It's panic play at Belgium :D

it was hearsay or it isn't

Hearsay what?

November 28, 2011 at 7:48:50 PM UTC

Thanks for the chart update Massman!

Any luck finding out why I can't submit my ucbench2011 score in the Country Cup section?

November 28, 2011 at 7:53:05 PM UTC

Can you try again?

November 28, 2011 at 7:55:58 PM UTC

..... We also found out on Saturday my X6800 Conroe was dead and we found out on sunday that my Sempron 145 could unlock.

It's panic play at Belgium :D

It's not so bad mate, when some reviewers at our office decides that they will join the country cup, we found out that almost all of our CPU were ES. And that includes :

- Clarkdale 655K, 540, 661

- i3-2100

And the only retail CPU left were E4400 ,E5300 , and a couple of AMD CPU (X2 245,250, 560 BE).

Ah well, messing with some old hardware with some friends was fun anyway , so it's all good :D :D

November 28, 2011 at 7:58:07 PM UTC

yeah one guys clarkdale was es too ...lol it was funny...false hope

November 28, 2011 at 8:00:18 PM UTC

Lol. Yeah, if it was ES only, we wouldn't have issues finding 5 chips ... :P

November 28, 2011 at 8:06:42 PM UTC

Massman isn't there going to be different topic for each stage?

November 28, 2011 at 8:09:33 PM UTC

Since only a handful of guys are talking/bashing/laughing/enjoying/competing. I think this thread will suffice.

**massman just made threads for stages1 and stages1 lol

**he fixed it in .001seconds

Looking into that score. Maybe re-submitting might be the fastest way to solve the issue.

FWIW - We're 8 results and 5 members short of hitting our all-time record for highest participation in a competition stage :)

November 29, 2011 at 8:43:20 PM UTC

There is actually 49s delay between the 2 score submited

They are overclocking together, just like always, MOA, GOOC

By the way, Greeks do the same, even pictures on different platforms are the same

November 30, 2011 at 10:37:54 AM UTC

Ryba and Chaos benching together = score sharing, three Greeks benching together = team session?

November 30, 2011 at 10:47:54 AM UTC

It's still possible for Ryba and Chaos to bench together and submit the score afterwards, I don't see anything wrong with this.

Well, for additional information, we from Indonesia also did team session together which takes place in our office. (although we had to share pots since we only have 2)

November 30, 2011 at 10:48:22 AM UTC

It's obviously inhonest. But you know Belgium is SO BIG COUNTRY that you have to travel days and nights... In rules there wasn't mentioned that you have to wait 3-60 minutes before putting another score. Yeah your rules are bad but it's your fault. Time isn't any reason to block entry.

The best solution is to add clear rules:

When you bench together/at one place you have to provide picture with all persons, all hardware etc.

Give exact time frames when putting multiple results

and so on.

For this stage we did a lot of ln2 parties, about 6 or 7, some pictures from two places

its pretty lame to delete my score...

all of you guys should now that me and ryba bench together

November 30, 2011 at 10:56:27 AM UTC

I don't think that the time will be the biggest issue. As Christian showed, you see a result of Ryba with the E6400 in december 2010. Now Chaos uses the same mainboard and cpu, only other rams to compete in the country cup.

November 30, 2011 at 11:02:49 AM UTC

Smoke, I apologize for not believing you - you really didn't have anything better :)

November 30, 2011 at 11:03:59 AM UTC

But your E8600 is beautiful! :)

November 30, 2011 at 11:07:08 AM UTC

Congratulations to Poland. Very good results. Great start, but Russia has no intention of giving up;)

ryba :D

November 30, 2011 at 11:14:05 AM UTC

We'll discuss internally.

It's true that Ryba did not have a score with that setup yet in UCBench. Grey area, so I guess open for debate.

You see, all of you want now make anything to lower our avg. score for no honest reason

...

November 30, 2011 at 11:14:06 AM UTC

Congrats Poland!!! Very nice team work!!!

Yeah .. same brand and name ... not same board

and if you really wanna know that CPU is mine now also

its really no point in arguing when I can clearly see that problem is POLAND. Greeks have 3 almost identical setup and nobody complains ...

bullshit

November 30, 2011 at 11:21:09 AM UTC

Thanks slamms! We're trying to break the tradition and work together for a change :P

November 30, 2011 at 11:25:40 AM UTC

No offence from this side.. Also @Ryba: Also no intention to lower the AVG score of Poland.

@Chaos, Ok no problem, its up to massman/christian to decide. Also you show this is your board, fine.. And i only replied to this thread because i think the time isn't the problem christian was talking about, while you were talking about rules of time etc... No bad feelings for Poland, and I didn't even see the scores of the Greeks, only giving my reply on what i see here in this thread..

Not only you ;)

So next LN2 party + grill? :D

November 30, 2011 at 11:40:55 AM UTC

Congrats Poland!!! Very nice team work!!!

Thanks! :) This year we will do our best ;)

November 30, 2011 at 11:50:16 AM UTC

For Russia in this year we are not will fanatic benching for each stage, because it not justified.

November 30, 2011 at 11:52:29 AM UTC

it's just the beginning... ;)

This year is so many stages and a lot of HW needed. The worst is PCMark. On the other hand AMD + 4-Way is pretty fun :D

And it's very sad for all of us :(

November 30, 2011 at 11:59:37 AM UTC

Backup the backup plan... !!

C'mon Romenia, post them scores !!! where's Germany at and the USA ?

currently... its the "great divide of a" lol

nice teamwork from Poland and Russia and Bulgaria and Belgium

+1

And it's very sad for all of us :(

The worst is hw, I don't have older gpus like GTX2xx or some crazy raid cards for pcmark, I had to buy GTX and it's very hard to find working used one, I bought reference 285 and appeared to be dead, so I bought another. Hope she will be good. But I can't find any Matrix/Lightning/Classified so it's a bit tough :) I prefer newer hw.

November 30, 2011 at 12:03:22 PM UTC

... and Belgium?

November 30, 2011 at 12:05:12 PM UTC

Congrats guys from Poland. See you in "Unigine G200" stage :)

November 30, 2011 at 12:13:59 PM UTC

My GTX285 died after removing the water block

lol

November 30, 2011 at 12:18:45 PM UTC

Congrats to Poland and Russia. Strong scores, guys :)

November 30, 2011 at 12:44:22 PM UTC

sorry I was eating, just got back, wazzup ? :P

Okay, maybe they did bench together, sorry for blocking but the facts were really obvious, so you can understand my block.

People complain when there is ''sharing not investigated'' and people complain as well when ''sharing is investigated''.

I thought it was better to block the score and wait for explanations from the users, then we can still allow the score afterwards. It's better to act like this than to block the score after the competition then you might be screwed with only 4 scores.

November 30, 2011 at 12:53:41 PM UTC

c'mon it is OBVIOUS that Poland And Russia cheat!!! block them and give us the lead :P

p.s. Well done guys gratz! See you in front of Belgium' s heaven Stronghold :)

November 30, 2011 at 2:01:56 PM UTC

Remove all scores higher than 731 MPT :P

Uhm, found that my submission with Athlon II X2 250 does not have Competition Points (CP). There was a problem with it. The engine didn't put it in our 5 scores, until I deleted the old one, which was lower.

November 30, 2011 at 2:14:16 PM UTC

Delete all scores and start again :D

November 30, 2011 at 2:20:52 PM UTC

Recalculation did the trick. No action needed from moderators.

See you in next stages :).

It's not as strong as it looks lol... we just had fun.. which is what this is all about. GTX275 Lightning will rule in this stage...

Anyone got any idea what happened to Romenia ? This is a big surprise to me... spill the beans Tudor ? No time mate ?

November 30, 2011 at 8:37:29 PM UTC

WOW team Poland killed stage 1!

Congrats fellas!

December 2, 2011 at 10:00:43 PM UTC

Hello,

I'm pretty new here, so I didn't quite understand about the rules of hardware sharing.

For Stage 2(3DMark2001SE IGP) and stage 5(Heaven DX9 GF2xx), is it OK to share our motherboards and RAM within the team ?

Warm Regards,

dimedevil

December 2, 2011 at 10:03:10 PM UTC

Not OK to share the GPU, so if your GPU is on the mobo (example: 890GX, GeForce 9400) you can't share the mobo. If your GPU is in the CPU package (LGA1156, 1155, Llano) you can share the motherboard but not GPU/CPU.

December 3, 2011 at 6:59:28 AM UTC

I see, thanks for the explanation :)

December 4, 2011 at 10:09:06 AM UTC

Indonesia did nice worm up in iGPU stage :)

December 7, 2011 at 8:33:04 AM UTC

Hi all...

I've been participating for Team Zwame, but i'm new to this contests and have not much experience.

But imo these contests should be separated in 2 divisions air/water cooling and extreme cooling as these 2 types of cooling competes in absolute 2 different championships. It's like a football match between Manchester United or Real Madrid or Barcelona vs Despertar SC. (This team is the actual worst team in the lowest possible football division in Portugal. Sorry if there is here any fan of this club, xD)

I think it's unfair to mix this 2 types of cooling... But it's just my opinion... :)

December 7, 2011 at 9:20:10 AM UTC

I tend to agree ... but how :)

December 7, 2011 at 6:29:05 PM UTC

I, for one, would also tend to agree with PsySc0rpi0n. Clearly, I have benefited greatly from the advent of the Enthusiast League. Prior to that, I had to content myself knowing that the only way I could post competitive scores was to use more obscure hardware and target less popular benchmarks.

Having said that, it's a double-edged sword. See, now that I'm an Enthusiast Leaguer, I no longer feel motivated to try sub-zero benching. In fact, it's quite the opposite: I am motivated to steer clear of it in order to maintain my Enthusiast League ranking.

And therein lies the rub. One of the great things about the Country Cup is how it introduces new people to the world of competitive overclocking. Sure it hurts, but it's also pretty eye-opening when the UCBench score you worked on for hours and hours over several nights gets absolutely blown out of the water in embarrassing fashion by guys running LN2.

So if HWBOT is interested in promoting more extreme benchmarking, then it actually makes sense to introduce people to it in the form of handing them a crushing defeat! By separating competitions like this into extreme vs. non-extreme cooling, it may have the opposite effect of encouraging people not to try more extreme forms of benchmarking.

In the end, I still selfishly agree with PsySc0rpi0n's post. But I can see there's another side to the argument as well.

December 11, 2011 at 11:02:44 AM UTC

Yes Yes Yes :)

December 11, 2011 at 11:02:53 AM UTC

A last night session for Team Belgium last night. We basically had to do 4 of the 5 scores, so time was an issue. I returned home at 6AM (benching from ~8PM, but it was worth it. Great team spirit, nice scores, some hair-pulling retarded hardware, but ... in the end we did fine for time/hardware we had available :D

Videos later.

December 11, 2011 at 11:11:31 AM UTC

Could that session be the reason my girlfriend is ignoring me today ? It was fun till the last minute :P

December 11, 2011 at 11:32:54 AM UTC

One night is not enough guys, four is the minimum for winning :P

December 11, 2011 at 11:38:04 AM UTC

Yes, that's very true.

I think there's a solid 37k (maybe even 38k) left in that HD4290 setup. Another 12k with that A4, another 7k with the A8, etc etc. We can't do this 3 days in a row, though, so I think we're doing fine with the limited time and hardware (not really limited, but always just one board/cpu combo).

December 11, 2011 at 11:41:02 AM UTC

Oh, FYI. The A4 and A6 CPUs as well as the HD4290 mainboard were purchased this week. So, no, didn't have them in advance ... ;)

December 12, 2011 at 4:02:54 PM UTC

Who's the flucking b*tch who has reported our HD6410D submission in stage 2????

Seriously, in the hurry we put 2 mainboard cpu-z, the HD6410D is present ONLY inside this cpu-z, all frequencies are linked on Llano, so with some simple division, you can easily get the cpu frequency.

Damn, what's the point of reporting every submissions?

The guy who's done that should really be a dumbass OCer to do such bad things.

December 12, 2011 at 4:07:21 PM UTC

@the one who did it : if you are just a bit courageous, tell me who you are. I just want to know.

December 12, 2011 at 4:10:54 PM UTC

No need to be courageous about it. The submission rules apply to everyone.

December 12, 2011 at 4:15:59 PM UTC

Please, don't talk about de rules. There are much submissions which have to be reported in the country cup, or at least, do not match "exactly" what is required.

BUT, those submissions are from "great" (lol) countries...

What a pity...

Edit : for example : http://hwbot.org/submission/2227146_pt1t_3dmark2001_se_radeon_hd_6550d_44333_marks

No memory information... Rules are the same for everyone? big big lol

Edit2 : I want to clear something, I absolutely don't want Pt1t submission's to be killed.

It happens to forget 1 cpu-z info...

December 12, 2011 at 4:34:12 PM UTC

cpu-z memory is not mandatory in 3dmark01

December 12, 2011 at 4:40:45 PM UTC

Ok i give up...

With that kind of story and with that kind of fucking bitch people, I understand now why more and more good OCer don't want to even hear about HWBot...

That's really a pity.

December 12, 2011 at 6:40:01 PM UTC

It is fairly hard to feel sorry when you sandbag 3 scores for the last day. Unless you legitimately were benching until the last few hours to get the scores up? If that was the case then my sympathies, but if the scores had been posted early then they would have been lots of time for corrections. Not even a placeholder score? Like I said, hard to feel sorry.

December 12, 2011 at 6:59:05 PM UTC

It was the last hours before posting ...

We feel disappointed because in fact we first feel quite motivated to participate to this kind of contest. Idea is quite good and only fun should be here. but unfortunatly there are again some losers behavior to face. Nevermind this is not the end, competition must go on and this IGP stage is finished now. I understand that strategosan can feel ungry, he spend all his WE and money to finish this stage with Wizerty. Wizerty made 400km to join us and now all efforts are lost due to bad loser way.

Finally It should be a fun contest but in fact it's only contest with the best and the worst.

December 12, 2011 at 7:36:55 PM UTC

Small question,

are there gonna be any prizes for winners? :D

December 12, 2011 at 7:47:29 PM UTC

!!! Eternal fame and respect !!!

December 12, 2011 at 7:52:19 PM UTC

And eternal shame for the others :D

Some guys are too bad for pushing their hardware over the limit and make great score so they adopt a dirty way for grab one little point on cup classement :(

Perhaps should we do the same... It will be more simple than search good tweaks or hardware...but it will hurt our own honor.

December 12, 2011 at 8:24:10 PM UTC

@Team France: bad luck guys, but the cup is not over yet!

Yes sure but that's annihilate efforts and money engaged for this stage,so the motivation is down, that's normal.

December 12, 2011 at 8:28:48 PM UTC

Yes sure but that's annihilate efforts and money engaged for this stage,so the motivation is down, that's normal.

I guess every team bought a lot of HW for country cup. We had to buy retails cpus, a lot of 275 / 285 gpus.

December 12, 2011 at 8:36:01 PM UTC

yep i know,we're all in the same case ;)

December 12, 2011 at 9:04:30 PM UTC

Just curious, but how do the competition points work? I see some people are getting 3 points for each submission in different stages, I got 3 points for my stage 5 sub, but subbed my first stage 3 score this morning & didn't get any competition points for it.

December 12, 2011 at 10:01:55 PM UTC

There is no competition points for this competition ;)

December 12, 2011 at 10:06:04 PM UTC

Yes, custom made cooling pots from kingpincooling and probably Ryba too.

@Team France: bad luck guys, but the cup is not over yet!

Nice :) Good to hear, more motivation in polish team ;)

Second question, how prizes will be divided through winners? Cause some stages need 5 results, some 3 and 3DMark 11 only one user.

December 12, 2011 at 10:52:11 PM UTC

Don't some take this stuff too seriously ? We (belgium ) are like trying this year to end in top 5 overall. Bought too much gear anyway the last weeks lol... My main interest is the team benching, having good laughs, good food and some brewskis or red bulls.... and learn some stuff...

But I need more hours a day to get all this stuff done !!!

hey guys, ive submited an entry for 4 core wprime 1024m but im getting 0 points for it?

December 16, 2011 at 5:12:54 PM UTC

It's not your best from this CPU :)

December 17, 2011 at 8:29:17 AM UTC

but shouldnt it still count towards competition points?

December 19, 2011 at 3:55:40 PM UTC

hey guys, ive submited an entry for 4 core wprime 1024m but im getting 0 points for it?

You might check to see if there is already a 4 core score submitted. The rules for that stage are a little confusing but it appears you need to have a score with each core number.

December 19, 2011 at 5:54:07 PM UTC

It has just been brought to my attention that some people are worried that the Radeon HD 7970 will be used for the final 3DMark11 stage. Since these cards have not been available at the beginning of the competition, they can not be used for this stage.

December 20, 2011 at 1:27:08 PM UTC

when is this updated?

December 21, 2011 at 12:04:47 AM UTC

when is this updated?

Should have updated right after you submitted a score, I posted in the pcmark 7 thread that it might be a bug with the system but it isn't getting fixed.

December 21, 2011 at 4:33:29 AM UTC

There is some type of bug. My score will not post, it is not a problem with he previous submission

December 21, 2011 at 8:48:03 AM UTC

Looking into this issue right now. There shouldn't be a bug; but it definitely looks like one ...

December 21, 2011 at 8:51:13 AM UTC

Ok, found it.

This score was still linked to the competition stage and was blocking Crantana's score from being picked up. All seems fine now!

December 21, 2011 at 9:44:09 AM UTC

CNN Breaking NEWS! Power surge in Russia, there is no internet also. :P

sandbagging revenge by the gods of OCing ?

Cell/smart phone results to Christian Ney !

December 21, 2011 at 11:36:43 AM UTC

wtf Why Russia dont have results ?? What going on bros ? :(

Gratz to Greece and Poland, good runs guys!!!

December 21, 2011 at 11:56:10 AM UTC

I think they have some scores, but without electricity hard to up them not ? Well done to Poland , Greece and Bulgaria !!!

...and little Belgium too :P

December 21, 2011 at 12:22:07 PM UTC

Don't have good 6&8 CPU....

December 21, 2011 at 12:28:04 PM UTC

Russia - we don't have a good 6&8 core CPU too (not 2x 4 core too..) You can win still.

Greece - Grats :)

December 21, 2011 at 1:05:02 PM UTC

We didn't have SR2. Only one SR2 in the whole country and it was loaded with some critical business stuff so we couldn't make use of it. Even though we got 2 x e5620, there was no sense to put them in the competition without OC. Congratulations to all for the great results!

December 21, 2011 at 1:53:59 PM UTC

What happened with France as well? They had very good results in the previous stages. And still don't get why countries as Germany and USA don't even have the minimum required submissions. Russia should have submitted something, even it had not been the best. We didin't have a good 8-cores result as well. No dual-socket available and no time for a proper run on the FX chip.

December 21, 2011 at 2:01:51 PM UTC

What happened with France as well? They had very good results in the previous stages.

They don't compete anymore since this result has been blocked http://hwbot.org/submission/2229638_

:(

December 21, 2011 at 2:27:09 PM UTC

So, if we change rules during the competition, they they will compete again? Liberté, égalité, fraternité ...

December 21, 2011 at 2:53:27 PM UTC

Well kudos to France for taking a stand even though it was self-inflicted. They have certainly punished themselves enough that even I feel bad with the extra points. Well almost... Seriously though it is too bad, nothing better than seeing all the very best come together for this no holds barred competition.

December 21, 2011 at 4:26:49 PM UTC

Don't have good 6&8 CPU....

6 or 8 core isn't where this stage was won...

a high HTT board for single core Sempron action and 1156 dual core was all you needed...

Sadly we didn't have neither :P

December 21, 2011 at 5:20:05 PM UTC

Good job Greece :)

December 21, 2011 at 5:37:23 PM UTC

we come back next year ;)

and with valid screen this time ...... :D

December 21, 2011 at 6:11:41 PM UTC

Next year?

December 21, 2011 at 7:35:02 PM UTC

2012

December 21, 2011 at 7:35:48 PM UTC

yes next year, with some good skill, and with smile

no more time to do something ok

December 21, 2011 at 8:35:27 PM UTC

Awesome I want one

So cute

December 21, 2011 at 9:05:11 PM UTC

Hmm...now motivation up to 140% :D :D :D

December 22, 2011 at 5:39:08 AM UTC

they looks awesome. :D

December 22, 2011 at 9:17:10 AM UTC

silly question but is there 3 pots to win or thats just the photo and the winning team gets more of them?:) im asking because if there is more then 3 then maybe ill get one;)

December 22, 2011 at 9:39:27 AM UTC

We will have 6 pots in total (3x GPU, 3x CPU). Prizes are: 3x SF3D Inflection and 3x Kingpincooling F1 Fat.

- Winning team: 1x CPU, 2x GPU

- Runner-up: 1x CPU, 1x GPU

- 2nd runner-up: 1x CPU

The most contributing member of the team will get a prize; the others will be done with a lucky draw within the team.

December 22, 2011 at 12:01:29 PM UTC

great thanks a lot for clarifying that Massman, that means I still got a chance to win a pot;)

December 22, 2011 at 12:34:51 PM UTC

We will have 6 pots in total (3x GPU, 3x CPU). Prizes are: 3x SF3D Inflection and 3x Kingpincooling F1 Fat.

- Winning team: 1x CPU, 2x GPU

- Runner-up: 1x CPU, 1x GPU

- 2nd runner-up: 1x CPU

The most contributing member of the team will get a prize; the others will be done with a lucky draw within the team.

And the most contributing member of the team will be chosen by? The amount of published results? cause I can't imagine other possibility cause you can't compare results from Gulftown to Sempron x1 core.

I think it's not fair to lucky draw prizes, cause in our team I, G.Foyle and ryba put a lot of money and time for doing results, I personally bought 500+ litres of ln2 and a lot of hw for it and according to competition points I, G.Foyle and ryba have equal amount of scores... and it seems we all will have the same competition points in all stages.

In 3DMark 11 we will upload result from new account "TeamPoland" or something like that probably, cause it's teams work. So what will be in situation when 2-3 members will have the same amount of points?

December 22, 2011 at 2:07:08 PM UTC

Most contributing member is defined by the amount of categories users participated in. If there are multiple users who entered in an equal amount of stages, we look at the participation in stage 1-4; if that is equal we look to stages 5-6 and after that to stage 7.

For HWBOT, this competition is all about team effort. How much is your fantastic Gulftown score worth if there would be no Sempron score to complete the 5 out of 5 necessary scores and vice versa? I'm sure within the Polish community you will have a lot of people who are grateful for your efforts :).

December 22, 2011 at 2:12:18 PM UTC

I see. But there is possibility in Poland that I, G.foyle and ryba will have the same amount of stages (we take part in 1-6 stages). Cause stage 7 will be neutral if all will go in right way. What HWBOT staff will do in that situation? :)

December 22, 2011 at 2:23:22 PM UTC

Then submit the score to the person's account that should get the pot?

December 22, 2011 at 2:28:52 PM UTC

Or give it (the pot) to me, so you won't argue anymore :D

December 22, 2011 at 2:33:27 PM UTC

just give them all to me, you already got your ones anyway:)

December 22, 2011 at 10:09:12 PM UTC

Hmm, no way it could be you :P

December 23, 2011 at 1:15:43 AM UTC

Not lucky draw? lol

December 24, 2011 at 2:35:17 PM UTC

That's pretty cool :)

December 26, 2011 at 5:13:12 PM UTC

Looks like the US is tied with Poland (ATM) Good job team USA!

December 26, 2011 at 5:47:00 PM UTC

With 4 days of competition left, we already broke the all-time record for submissions in a HWBOT competition: 887 so far.

Pretty hardcore :D

December 26, 2011 at 7:04:22 PM UTC

December 27, 2011 at 1:10:50 PM UTC

Wow, only less than 72 hours left in this competition,

It's been weeks since me and my friends decided to enter this country cup, and ever since november 19th all we do is bench, bench, and bench non-stop, even during our busy days in the office. (luckily our boss don't mind :P)It's been fun really, searching for old hardware in our warehouse, benching with friends, not sleeping at all waiting for the deadline to submit, and all that :D :D

I'd also point out that it's been an honor for us to compete with the top guys here at Hwbot :

Team Poland (Ryba n Friends), Team Greece, Team Belgium, Team Bulgaria, Team Russia, Team Canada,Team US, France, and so many more :)

For the last 3 stages, I don't know how things will work out for our team in Indonesia, the hardware and LN2 is ready for our last runs, but i guess after the xmas holiday, our benching mood was somehow 'lost' :P, we're still going to try our best though ;)

So, see you guys in the finish line 3 days from now, may the best country win ;) ;)

Regards,

December 27, 2011 at 4:12:26 PM UTC

Was about time you lot showed up ! What took you so long ?

Waiting for just the right moment ;)

December 27, 2011 at 4:20:14 PM UTC

So USA is gonna drop the bomb on us all ? seems it's between USA, Poland, Bulgaria, Indonesia and Greece

Thursday we will try the memory cpu-z and hopefully Pt1t and Cornerjack AMD 3D11... hoping we can finish around 5th spot...

December 28, 2011 at 11:58:45 AM UTC

Inflection Point pot Frederik, unless this is a new line :) ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflection_point )

December 28, 2011 at 2:00:51 PM UTC

Good Luck Guyzzzzzz :D

December 30, 2011 at 9:20:32 AM UTC

why i dont get points for submitting Wprime score for belgium ?

http://hwbot.org/search/submissions/permalink?ids=2229651,2231553,2232750,2231856,2232502

Even normally for participating you should get 1point, and when it's in the compo a top5 place some more.

I don't get anything, possible to fix this ?

Also Teemto doesn't get anything for his score

December 30, 2011 at 9:25:36 AM UTC

Currently, UCP are not awarded for team/competitionteam/country-based competitions. It's a 'bug' that is in our backlog.

December 30, 2011 at 10:35:02 AM UTC

but if you look at the link i gave you,

you, gamer and leeghoofd get 3point CP,

but i'm not.......

December 30, 2011 at 10:39:37 AM UTC

Hm, okay. Strange. Thanks for the report!

December 30, 2011 at 10:41:27 AM UTC

and there are more people where i saw this,

Like Teemto should also get 3 CP points, but he didn't also like me for example.

Let you know something if fixed ?

December 30, 2011 at 10:44:24 AM UTC

If Greece takes #1 in stages 4, 6 and 7 ... they win the Country Cup with 82p. Even if Poland is 2nd in those stages, they would still be 2 points short.

December 30, 2011 at 1:45:37 PM UTC

Well it should be harder for Greece to win Stage 4 with 3 of the 5 submissions missing screenshots. New type of sandbagging? Wait till the last second to put up the screens?

December 30, 2011 at 2:06:42 PM UTC

2 of 3 submissions fixed...

December 30, 2011 at 4:01:32 PM UTC

Don't forget to fix the last one too

December 30, 2011 at 8:19:23 PM UTC

And show us 9k avg in PCMark07 :)

December 30, 2011 at 8:48:56 PM UTC

Still sandbagging? :P

December 30, 2011 at 8:58:07 PM UTC

Still sandbagging? :P

No mate, just now I had to stop my amd 3dm11 setup (board failed) with a score which is way lower than my expectation...(lower than yesterday session anyway)

And I still need to setup my Gulftown LN2 run in PCMark 7, and score a memory clock...

So, no, i'm NOT sandbagging :P

December 30, 2011 at 9:01:59 PM UTC

This is what is going on in Leeghoofd's house:

PCMark07 sucks :)

Happy New Year ;)

December 30, 2011 at 11:15:03 PM UTC

Good Job Poland :D

Happy New Year!

December 30, 2011 at 11:22:27 PM UTC

It's done at last :D :D

Congrats to the winner Poland :celebration:, the runner-up Greece :celebration:

and all other countries who have participated , you all did very well :ws:

@ leeghoofd :

We got lucky at the PCMark 7 stage : figured out the Virtu tweak by coincidence(my friend MaVeRCK tried to run PCM7 at his h67 igp setup and the video transcode boosted up fiercely),

The point is, use Z68 system with Virtu custom profile for 2 executive file in transcoding test. (MFPlayback and something with XCode, i don't remember clearly)

And the other tweak was :

- RAM Caching using FancyCache software : I Guess the Canadians figured this out very early in the game. Using this software, even single SSD setup can get very high storage setup.

- Using Win8 + Core Parking Disable : boosted up transcode , we learn this from the Greeks ;)

- IE Appearance tweaks : small font, no show pics/animation/sound, etc. Boosted up quite a bit. (Dunno what Team Greece done with their early setup with 90p/s, which gave me headache for 48 hours++ x.x )

- Force the Imaging executive file (WIC.exe ?) to be run under 640x480 res and force 256 Color, got a small gain in Image Manipulation.

I think that's all for our tweaks :)

* at least we didn't waste 3 days++ for nothing :P *

Happy New Year Everyone ! :celebration:

December 30, 2011 at 11:25:34 PM UTC

somebody is a liar....

December 30, 2011 at 11:30:06 PM UTC

Brilliant PCM7 finds : we had a 200 webpage trick, but far from legal to be applied... so we skipped it... w ehad ram cache on win7, but our programs didn't work for Win8. Huge storage raid controller 8 SSDs, but this benchmark scales with jack shit... besides raw cpu power and software tricks :P It's totally anti hardware overclocking minded lol.

We had an idea about virtu ! But we wanted to finish this nite with a 19K run on FX for the boys of Tones webshop.

So we are still benching right now...

Congratz again to all, I had a blast, hopefully so did you !

December 30, 2011 at 11:30:16 PM UTC

Congrats everyone, great deal of fun and can't wait until next year. Seriously though, no one wondering how the Greeks managed to get 5 different sticks of RAM with the exact same serial number? I'm probably missing something though

December 30, 2011 at 11:33:18 PM UTC

- Force the Imaging executive file (WIC.exe ?) to be run under 640x480 res and force 256 Color, got a small gain in Image Manipulation.

Whoah! Genius!!

Btw, there is a trick to get 200P/S which we'll share in the next week :).

December 30, 2011 at 11:35:12 PM UTC

same sticks of RAM were allowed

December 30, 2011 at 11:54:06 PM UTC

Huge congrats to Poland:celebration:

But why was the last stage rewarded with 25 points and the others just 10 or 15? Makes little sense to me... Should've been 15. Would've sucked if a country got a bad score in just that one and lost the top spot because of that alone, even though that team perhaps owned the rest.

December 30, 2011 at 11:55:59 PM UTC

Congratulation to everyone :)

December 30, 2011 at 11:58:11 PM UTC

Think the skill of going with 4 LN2 cards requires a bit more points... seems like a tough benchmark/setup to get right... as we see some flawed scores , that could have been far better at the ran speeds...

Pj is cracking 19.2K right now with just 6.75Ghz and 4 X GTX580 cards. So hopefully 20K is possible with a bit more CPU ooomph...

December 31, 2011 at 12:01:32 AM UTC

same sticks of RAM were allowed

LOL, see knew I was missing something. I guess my mistake for assuming that HWBOT policy against hardware sharing didn't extend to Memory Clock. Good to know for next time.

December 31, 2011 at 1:10:23 AM UTC

Congrats to Poland! :celebration:

December 31, 2011 at 2:32:09 AM UTC

2 hours benching 3dmark 11 it's not enough for 4 way sli.

It is suicide...

This is not an excuse but is a fact

Congratulations to Poland

December 31, 2011 at 3:35:57 AM UTC

I would like to thank all guys who participated in Country Cup this year. Best honours go to Greece, Indonesia, Belgium, Bulgaria and Russia for their marvellous results. Hope next year more countries will be motivated to participate in this contest. USA, France, Brazil, Mexico, Germany or Sweden are very strong countries in terms of overclocking, only a bit of cooperation is needed :)

Okay, so now officially and personally I am very happy, good to know that all our efforts have given 1st place this year! The most important thing for me is that we could join and bench together despite our "local" differences or competition.

This CC was the most exhausting overclocking in my life, cause there were 7 stages, and some of them made man balding like cursed PCMark7! Oh gosh, it's so boring, nothing happens (almost) during it and it needs stability better than Wprime 1024M or Vantage CPU Tests! It's irrational lol

Wow....Poland on Fire!!!

* bow *

:) Thx

I guess Poland wasn't kidding when they said they were "far far" away

great job guys:thumbsup:

Who said that? :D Thx

i was kiddin but i guess you have the f5 syndrome :P

congrats my polish brothers!

greece taking number2 again? like moa? :P

Greece is really strong this year. In my opinion the most outstanding results came from Hellas guys :)

Congratulations to Poland! :celebration:

Very respectable entries from the other countries too. Indonasia are PCMark7 masters. :ws:

Thank you :) Indonesia killed us all in PCMark or PCMark killed us, I am not able to choose right option lol

Congratz all !! Well done !! This was fun, now spill the beans with that darn pcmark7 benchmark lol

but really guys it was a blast this year, congratulations to Poland, Greece and Indonesia you guys killed it.

Country Cup almost killed us :D

PCMark07 sucks :)

Happy New Year ;)

You are right Tom :)

Good Job Poland :D

Happy New Year!

The same to you :D

Holy!!! Those tweaks are amazing and I guess we won't ever think about it. just like Virtu - I always thought it's a shit so I avoided it.

Brilliant PCM7 finds : we had a 200 webpage trick, but far from legal to be applied... so we skipped it... w ehad ram cache on win7, but our programs didn't work for Win8. Those tweaks are amazing, good for my favourite ROG board 1156 - Maximus Gene-Z :D

Thanks Knut! 4-Way on GTX480/580 is the most hard for LN2 users, 4x GPU = 4^2 more troubles :D So I think that 25 points was quiet fair.

Congratulation to everyone :)

Thank you :)

Think the skill of going with 4 LN2 cards requires a bit more points... seems like a tough benchmark/setup to get right... as we see some flawed scores , that could have been far better at the ran speeds...

20K done :)

Congrats to Poland! :celebration:

Thx XS captain :D

2 hours benching 3dmark 11 it's not enough for 4 way sli.

It is suicide...

This is not an excuse but is a fact

Congratulations to Poland

2 hours = lucky strike or failure ;) 4-Way should be checked firstly on stock aircooling (yeah but with Asus 3-port gpu's I hadn't that chance, every GPU should be pretested on LN2 before serious bench, and you have to know your mobo/CPU VERY WELL for this task.

December 31, 2011 at 7:57:56 AM UTC

congratz to all.

happy new year and have a save night

December 31, 2011 at 10:01:46 AM UTC

First of all congrats to Poland and Indonesia and of course to all the other country’s that participate.

We lost the first place because we make a big mistake to bench 3DM11 the last moment and we manage to make only 1 run with a lot of issues in our board.

As for PCMark7 we did our best but we haven’t an X79 board and CPU for the third set up.

Happy new year to all :)

December 31, 2011 at 10:42:13 AM UTC

Job well done and Happy New Year to all!

December 31, 2011 at 2:00:22 PM UTC

Since it's NY weekend, we'll go over the submissions and problems of the CC'11 ranking and post the final ranking/decisions next monday or tuesday.

Happy New Year all!

December 31, 2011 at 2:43:49 PM UTC

Many congrats to Poland, you played clever with 3DM11 and of course Indonesia was very strong! Unfortunately we lost the last run that was 8150@6600 & 580's@1150 :(

I wish a happy new year to all people and have fun when benching :)

December 31, 2011 at 4:17:28 PM UTC

Congrats to Team Poland, they did an excellent job!

Also it was fun competing against all of you and best of luck for the new year!

December 31, 2011 at 4:45:41 PM UTC

Congrats to team Poland and all the participants, was fun compete against the best team.

December 31, 2011 at 5:21:15 PM UTC

Poland : 38.187.488

Greece : 11.319.048

Indonesië : 239.870.940

Belgium : 10.879.159

Belgium : We win....

Hughs and kisses to Poland !!!!

We will be back !

January 3, 2012 at 12:22:40 AM UTC

Congats to Poland for winning . Also to Indonesia for showing some very good scores ! It was an amazing contest !:)

We didn't have much time to test 4way .Our problems began after 30 minutes playing , just when the system memory started coldbuggin .It took us too long to understand it ... and we run out of time .

January 3, 2012 at 1:20:39 PM UTC

Congrats to the winners! Very strong results. Solid results from Greece and Indonesia as well. However, we had a chance to win over Belgium (:P), but the 3DMark stage was way below my expectations and there was no time and LN2 for more. Happy New Year! See you in next competition :)

January 3, 2012 at 1:38:44 PM UTC

Btw, I'll publish a news article later this week and contact for shipping the gear out !

January 10, 2012 at 2:05:56 PM UTC

No article about CC, no news about shipping pots...

January 10, 2012 at 2:27:45 PM UTC

Writing as we speak.

January 10, 2012 at 4:59:15 PM UTC

So, the winners:
