Hi all! 'm really glad that MSI continues strong efforts with MOA.

EMEA is the hardest one as usual -) Will try my best till 've got the HW recently and can't just do nothing with that despite all the troubles around.

Didn't expect such a close battle in 32M. Five people already at 4min46 or lower and few more sandbagging...

it's the first time i seem to be lucky with a randome retail cpu for oc purposes. but it won't be enough for sure.

I think we already spent more time than sificiente to allow turning off the tesselation one the benchmark's .... today we have the validations to check it... so it has advantage for amd never quite figured out which the relationship with the hwbot amd to allow that to happen !!! Excuse my conversation a bit off topic ... but I honestly do not understand why!!! Because that on futurmark we have two diferente ranking´s....

It's allowed to disable tesselation in the AMD driver but not to disable tesselation in the benchmark itself. The result was not done at default settings which is the reason for the result-block.

There is no way this happens by accident so unless you are disabling the tesselation manually everything is fine. You don't have to worry. If you apply a "tweak" to disable tesselation of the benchmark your result will be blocked.

Messing with test settings is not allowed, simple as that....Driver tessellation you can turn of...

Everyone (Including hwbot staff that created this benchmark app) knows that changing a setting cause benchmark not to give any score. So how did i do this???? If i can do, why nobody do not make results with changed settings? Hwbot admins, can you produce a result by changing setting??? Is it really easy to remove someones score? Also, tesseletion is off from ccc. So what is the difference? You disable tesselation from ccc and change it from any game or app. Does it effect score??

IMO, even if a benchmark does produce bugged results once in a while, it is still your fault if you have been waiting til the last minute and/or uploaded only one score. In case there is anything wrong with this score, you simply have no time to react and end up empty-handed.

Yes it's possible to do that. However I will not explain how to do it exactly obviously.

We can check in the database if somebody used this bug to disable tesselation. Since everybody is requesting more details:

The result data contains all stuff like system data, benchmark and score details and so on. One little part is "d3d11_render_use_tessellation 1" which indicates the tesselation of the benchmark (not the tesselation of the driver!). In this case the detail was "d3d11_render_use_tessellation 0". So the tesselation of the benchmark was disabled which is a similar thing to change the resolution of the benchmark (not default settings).

Don't get me wrong please! I'm not saying that he did it on purpose. Even if this happened by mistake or bug of the benchmark it would not be a run at default settings.

The reason for the block would just change from "not ran at default settings" to "impossible score at given settings, possible bug or other". The result would be the same.

We checked the unigine heaven score of all other submissions and all of them had tesselation enabled in the benchmark.

If it was bugged it would be the same result like for example the black level scores of 3DMark03. Not caused by the user but in the end still not valid.

Keep in mind that this is just the issue about the unigine heaven result. Like Massman explained already the 03 result does not have a valid link. We had this issue several times now during the qualifier and we cannot accept the result without a valid link. Futuremark just "confirmed" it via email that the result could be valid but they can't provide a link. It was clearly written in the rules that you have to be careful with the systeminfo and provide a valid link. Since the competition is over we also can't accept valid and lower scores which have not been submitted to the competition in time.

Just my personal point of view:

This is also a result of sandbagging. If these scores were submitted few days ago we could've looked into it and maybe helped you to get a valid score in time. Few minutes before the competition was over this is impossible. I'm really sorry this happened to you and can understand that you must be very disappointed and angry but since we are talking about a ticket to MOA with a lot of money involved we can't do any exceptions when it comes to the rules. I hope you understand that.

I am still insisting that both my results are valid. And that ####ing 03 could not detect my systeminfo version. I have a video and i will upload it here (sry but my internet is limited at around 128K) that shows even by installing a 4.29 system info it says your system info is old! So what i could do? The stupid benchmark does not detect system info 4.29 and detect it as 3.7. What is my fault here?

I think you are using an old version of the 3DMark03 benchmark which may have integrated SI and/or isn't compatible with the latest SI.

Make sure you are also using the latest 3DMark 03 version which is something like 3.60v1901.

EDIT: close enough, it's v360.1901

Since I gave up on class B with my weak cpu, I had nothing to do but watch the show in EMEA A and class B.

I believe the Iranian guys didn't do that on purpose, but in the end both results are not valid in terms of defined rules.

Not sure about UH, but it doesn't matter if it as a bug or done on purpose - still not a valid score. Well, it matters to some extent, because if it was done on purpose the user deserves some kind of punishment, but in both cases the result needs to be removed.

For 3DMark 03, even if it is completely valid, the missing validation link renders it invalid for the competition. So it doesn't matter if you provide all the proof in the world. Rules are rules.

Now, if you didn't count on sandbagging and had uploaded some lower, but valid scores earlier, you could still get to the finals when your top scores get removed. And if these placeholder scores were not valid, people would report them earlier and you would have had time to correct these flaws. You got screwed by the sandbagging.

We all know what is he capable of. When you don't have a good hardware to compete, just give up and save your good reputation. That's a shame if true .

Pieter do you remember in past MOAs what was HWBOT action about suspicious results??? I won't name but I actually remember you ask them for rebench after competition closed(Like two Brazilian OCers) !!!

So if you really think that there was not any purpose and cheating why don't you let him rebench and give him another try on that 2 benches ? Won't that be more fair like what you've done in past?

That was a different situation, Poorya. In the situation you are referring to, there was no question about the validity of the scores.

The situation with the scores is clear. For the 3DMark03 score the link is missing and for the Unigine Heaven we can see in the log files that it was not ran at default settings. There's no doubt that the 3DMark03 is a fully legit score, but the competition requires specifically a valid verification link. I feel your pain, but these are just the rules .

It's always good to make some early submissions in the competition to make sure your scores are valid and the validations work before you are disappointed in the last five minutes. don corleon matrix rnd had truly awesome overclocks on the GPU, it's a pity the submissions were a bit wishy washy, hopefully see them next time fully prepared!

When I first saw your score I was really excited that someone from Iran would make it to MOA. I have a lot of respect for what you guys manage to do over there. However we have to be strict with the rules and apply the same to everyone.

Same goes to the rule about a live rebench. We only requested that in the past if the results were valid but either suspicious or hardware sharing involved. In your case the results are not valid so there is nothing we can do. Belive me I'm really sorry about that.

Edit: I recall: Tesselation tweaking is related to the driver tesselation. It has never been allowed to change the benchmark itself. That's why you see "use default settings" on top of the rules.

Before submitting my results in final hour my team mates told me that they (hwbot staff) will be against your score and now i see they were right.

This point right here doesn't really sit well. Why would someone think that people would be against "totally valid" scores? For someone to think that, they must either know something is wrong, be it deliberately or inadvertently. All experienced overclockers should have an idea of what scores you should get at given clocks. When a score seems out of line, any experienced person should know it. With that being said, anyone that has been keeping up with unigine heaven lately or that has been following the MOA qualifiers would know that the older 13.11 drivers don't score as well as the newer 14.6 drivers. It seems that at some point, someone realized that the score was off and that people would question it's validity, which is what ended up happening.

Don't get me wrong, the clocks were amazing and had that result been done with 14.6 drivers or newer, I don't think anyone would have questioned it.

I am so sorry for some overclockers that calling me a cheater. Just remember that i was in hwbot before some of you even know about hwbot.

Just so that we're clear, I wasn't accusing Don since I didn't know the situation clearly, however photoshopping is clear manipulation and is definite cheating. If the result is clearly photoshopped and was trying to deceivingly gain an advantage then the user should be banned from competitions for a specific amount of time which would be discussed by the admins, I would personally say they should forget about MOA 2015 if that's true.

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter where you're from, we all have the same rules, we all compete in the same league so we all get treated the same?

If this isn't the case then I'd like an explanation as to why this is.

ObscurePradix you are right. It is NOT against any countries or people but a matter of rules. I think there is a misbelief rhregarding previous events and a confusion was made.

Anyhow rules are rules and hwbot judges and cinpetituon judges are independant in their jidge role.

Rules are rules and MSI is making them, in accordance with hwvot (to my understanding).

In the end it is only aboit a rule that this came to a score being unauthorised. As said sometimes it is buggy run but rules are quite mature nowdays : "run at default settings" was one of them.

Also conpetition are worldwide and the dimension of personal perspective or country gdp, ease of acces etc doesn't play into this.. because it is way too subjective.

I'm sad too to not see a middles east ocer but well.. same a we dont see any swedish, or talian (even if many particpate)

Ok.. the reason I gave to the staff seems to be the most common one may think about, so let it 'be'. 've got quite predictable feedback way as a piece of a puzzle for myself. Time to re-build some relations till 2014 is my huge personal checkpoint.

I'm really sorry for making troubles here inside the community but I'm also happy about HWBOT team carefully inspecting the results at least for validity. With no argues to the staff, no regret from my side and without silly disproof attempts. I knew what I was doing and I believe it was necessary.

Don't dramatize the situation.. better look on it within a different point and think a bit.

My reputation has been built for years, tons of money and took a huge piece of my life. Ppl especially in Ukraine can tell more. It is considered to be priceless and not worthy just a single MOA ticket or a free HW bundle that can be sold afterwards. If it is damaged hard now in your eyes - no problems, it's up to you guys and this is understandable.

Prolly we'll talk more somewhen.
