      Bought this board 5 years ago. It died last week. Seems to have popped capacitors prematurely. I won't buy ASRock again.
      Also tried getting this board from 2 other places. Both tested before shipping. Both dead. Beware!

      Leider habe ich dieses Board mit einem veralterten Bios (1.00-15B) erhalten.
      Mit einem i7-3820 Prozessor (4 Kerne) hat man keine Möglichkeit ein Bios-Update durchzuführen.
      Mit einer Fehlermeldung auf dem Board wird man zwar auf eine alte Version hingewiesen und neues Bios läst sich auch leicht auf der Asrock-Webseite finden.
      Aber zum Aktualisieren müsste Bios zuerst starten - und das geht eben nicht.
      Eine Email-Anfrage bei Asrock-Support blieb unbeantwortet.
      Habe Board zurück geschickt und mir ein Asus Rampage IV GENE bestellt.
      Kostet zwar 100 Euro mehr, aber bei Asus kann auch vor dem Bios-Start aktualisiert werden.

      This was an emergency buy when my ASRock X79 Extreme7 failed on me (my fault, that is also a fantastic motherboard)

      Extreme7 was out of stock anywhere I looked at the time, so I got the Extreme4-M and it was almost as good. Easy to install, and it needed no setting up at all, just used my Extreme7 setup and away, another brilliant offering from ASRock!

      Only thing I miss from the Extreme7 is the twin LAN ports for "Dual LAN Teaming" which sped up my slow internet.

      EDIT: I just read another reviewer who had a problem with the i7-3820 CPU. I used this exact chip on my Extreme4-M and it worked well from the start, can't doubt the other reviewer but I had no problems. Maybe I was lucky? I still use this pair in my emergency back-up machine and after 4 years it still seems to work fine.

      Fantastic looking motherboard with everything you need in spades.

      Problem: The BIOS chip included with this motherboard is outdated and will not work with an Intel i7-3820 chip. The motherboard will show error AF. Good luck solving this problem via google! To rectify this you need to phone one of these numbers (depending on your location):

      You will need to ask for an updated BIOS chip. They will send this out post haste. To find this out we had to call america from deepest scotland! AsRock customer service was great and very prompt.

      Hopefully the motherboard will work as well as other online reviews state.

      bought this motherboard as an atempt at a system build , therefore I also bought the i7 3820 with my basic knowledge of oc . After making a few inquire's regarding up dating board chips, I was pleased to be informed that this is no longer required Took my about two days to set up and connect , in my spare time, not a single issue after boot up! this mother board has a nice manual and the usual cd disc set, yes I am very pleased with this board.
