By far the best Processor in terms of money/value in the market

By far the best Processor in terms of money/value in the market
After almost 20 years dealing with Intel and their processor, I always was an Intel fan. To make things worse, the only experience that I had with AMD (in combination with MSI and their very crappy motherboard by middle 2000) was nothing but frustration. Sempron's processor was a very bad experience to deal with AMD that I never wanted to deal with AMD...until now. With intel's abussive thing of makes customer changes their motherboard and myself lacking of power with an old (but great i5 3570), it was time to make a change to AMD with their Ryzenz that for what I've been hearing are awesome. So I gave it a try as well with this motherboard for a very recognize brand...and I wasn't wrong.Easy to mount, everything worked neat from the first power on .Pro's:-The conections are very well thought (helps a lot for cable management)-The M.2 Sata slot is well placed so It doesn't received negative air pressure from the GPU (like most of the motherboard at this price range)-Beauty BIOS UI, with a bunch of options and info.-RAM QLV is quite impresive, being compatible with most of the best RAM in the market.-THE LED (I was not into the lights thingies but after I saw it well combine with my STRIX GTX 1060, I fall in love)Con's-If you have a Windows 7 licence and you want to upgrade to W10 with the licence you purchased, it's going to be unconfortable to do it at the begining. As most of you might do, to boot Windows 7 you will need a USB memory (by this time is odd to find anyone who use DVD ROM) and at the time to boot up the USB Stick, this motherboard won't recognize any USB device connected to it. ASUS is well awared of the situation so they upload to their support page for this board a software (ASUS EZ Installer for Windows 7 64-Bits) that combine your Windows 7 ISO with the drivers for this MoBo so as soom you boot it up, your mouse and keyboard works just fine. In my case (and most of you that don't have a External DVD ROM) you can simulate your Win7 ISO with a 3rd party software (Virtual CloneDrive) and from the ASUS EZ installer you can combine both drivers and WIN 7 ISO and then do your thing and boot your WIN7 Stick and install. And yes...that was my only con for this Motherboard, that I won't reflect in my final score (tho was very frustrating because I had to do my own research).Other than that, I am very satisfied with this MoBo.PD: Yeah, I was kind of scare due some bad comments/reviews from other people, but all this time, ASUS for me have been a very good company, and any of their products have worked perfect for me (Monitor, Motherboard, GPU) by the time of this review so I gave it a try and I don't regreat.

I just built my new PC afte 15 years! In between i was a dedicated console gamer until finally i decided to get back into the PC world and enjoy the higher framerates and better resolutions. After doing some homework, and based on my needs, i decided that the new AMD Ryzen 5 1600X was good for me. I wanted a machine that had some decent power and offered most bang for buck!

When looking into supporting motherboards for the Ryzen 5 i kept reading forums on Reddit and watching tons of YouTube videos by Paul's Hardware, Bitwit, Linus's Tech Tips and of course Jay'sTwoCents. Considering these guys are all pros and have what seems like the deepest pockets and sponsorships and all i couldnt really afford the best of the best system. However, when comparing this model of B350-F vs the Prime Plus vs A370, this one offered the most bang for buck and had the complete list of features i needed along with some basic RGB features included.

The Good - This variant of the b350-F motherboard is by far the best one to use, has a very easy (and pretty) bios interface - overclocking on this badboy is so easy and straightforward that you will be able to do it without even watching a YouTube video although i would recommend you watch one prior to doing anything on it. Pricing of this thing can't be beat either, i purchased this when it was for $104.99 on Amazon and had a $20 rebate from ASUS bringing it down to just $85. At that price, the amount of features this board offers, including its build quality is amazing. This board fit perfectly in my Phanteks P400 tower without feeling too tight at all. There are also a plethora of USB ports on the back including 3.0 as well. Overall quality, price and build of it is very impressive. The board also stays relatively cool and i have not experienced any spikes in temps.

The Not So Good - The only thing i disliked was that the board did not include a USB type C port. That is literally it! Everything else was perfect for my needs and booted up like a champ when i first built everything on it.

Overall - This B350-F board is the best option to get and can even save you some money. For moderate overclocking, a plethora of ports and cool RGB lighting as well as multiple points for fan and AIO connections, i would highly recommend this board. The lack of a USB Type C port is the only thing going against this board, other than that i am extremely glad with my purchase and do not regret it at all. If you're on the fence of getting this vs the A370, i would say go with this unless you are truly into water cooling and doing high Overclocking for extended periods of time. This is perfect for everything else and can handle moderate OC. Look it up on YouTube as well if you'd like to.

I am writing this review to enter into the "Join The Republic- Your Path to Legendary Continues" campaign

I was having a hard time trying to choose which AM4 motherboard to get, as nothing had all the features I wanted (at least the ALC1220 audio codec, Intel Ethernet, USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, and decent VRMs) without being ridiculously expensive. So I was really glad that this came out before I bought something and that I didn't have to compromise.

Having said that, if you aren't interested in those features, you could get something that is normally a bit cheaper like the ASUS Prime B350-Plus or the MSI B350 TOMAHAWK. If you need Crossfire or SLI support, get an X370 motherboard that is certified for that (do check the specs for that, as some X370s don't support SLI). Also, you might find overclocking to be better on *some* of the more expensive motherboards, but YMMV.

Anyway, this motherboard has been great so far:

      Pros:
      * Seems to have good overclocking support (will update this later.)
      * Audio is great. However, if you don't have very good speakers/headphones or aren't extremely picky, it's definitely overkill.
      * Memory overclocking is pretty good. My Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (CMK8GX4M2B3000C15) kit did work at 2133MHz but didn't work at 3000MHz out of the box. It wouldn't POST with the XMP profile that was loaded on the RAM. However, boosting the voltage up a bit (from 1.35V to ~1.36V) or fiddling with the timings got it working at 2933MHz.
      * Includes 4 SATA cables, so you can actually use the 4 SATA ports off the chipset plus an M.2 drive without having to buy extra SATA cables. It's a little thing, but it's still helpful.
      * Speaking of which, some motherboards have SATA ports that are connected to controllers that don't support RAID. On this board, the SATA ports off the chipset (*not* the SoC) do support RAID, so you could run RAID 10. Not important for most people, but it's nice that it's there.

      Neutral:
      * RGB LEDs on the chipset are covered up by large graphics cards, giving the motherboard a soft glow. Still looks pretty and I don't care a lot about RGB stuff.
      * No external clock generator, but that seems to be limited to only some X370 boards.
      * The CPU cooler backplate wasn't stuck onto the board with tape or glue. Depending on what kind of cooler you will use, that might not matter, but it does make installing the Wraith Spire stock cooler included with the Ryzen 5 1600 a little bit trickier. Just make sure the board is on a hard, non-bendable surface, so that the plate has support and will stay in place.
      * Someone's fingerprint was on the metal shield that says "SupremeFX". The fingerprint came off easily with a cloth though, so no big deal.

      Cons:
      * A bit pricier than some B350 boards, albeit with more features.
      * XMP profile didn't work out of the box. This could change with future BIOS updates.
      * No PS/2 port, but the more expensive X370 version of this board has one.

This was my first computer build, so I'm sure I made some mistakes, but I'm really happy with how it has turned out so far. I've had zero issues with this motherboard and would definitely buy it again.

Has plenty of everything, rear IO, fan headers, two RGB headers for that lighty up goodness, and loads more. Not had a single problem with the board yet, overclocking my Ryzen 7 1700 was an absolute breeze, and the ASUS BIOS is really nice to use. Lastly I have to mention the included parts, you get so much more than I expected! DVD with drivers, loads of cable ties, four SATA cables, RGB Extension cables, free coaster, and more. Would 100% recommend this board, especially for the price.

Picked this up on an Amazon Warehouse deal and saved more the $20 over the normal price. Never had any issue with ASUS boards, even e-waste recovered boards, so I was pretty confident buying it used from Amazon Warehouse.

The prime B350 is a simple board for a small price, but it packs all the important modern features you need for the current CPU in 2017/2018.

You DO NOT get extra bells and whistle like onboard Wi-Fi, an extra PCI-e x16 slots, 10Gbps LAN, or an extra LAN port.

But what you DO get is the full chipset features of AMD B350 with Overclocking tools, A decent number of USB 3.0 and 3.1 ports, a PCI-E 4x NVME slot, 6 SATA III port, and most importantly a solid reliable motherboard that will outlive any ones upgrade cycle.

It's not the cheapest and it's not the most featured board, but for all around reliability, and price its a great value.
