    I used this processor on a recent build for a customer. I liked the fact that it came with an adequate fan/heatsink as a number of the XEONs are now being packaged without the fan. I would not use the stock fan in an overclocked scenario, but for a stock build, temps were great.

    Massive improvement! I used this on a 12 year old HP 8100CMT that came with an i3-550. Paired this with 16GB RAM and a 750TI and now this runs like a beast. Ideal for a low cost gaming rig. The Xeon was legendary 12 years ago and it still is! Runs Farcry5 and New Dawn like butter at Ultra settings.

    These HP systems (8100/8200/8300 CMT/SFF) are now obsolete and have a proprietary HP motherboard with a stock PSU with proprietary power connectors so replacing the PSU is not happening. But if you can get your hands on these type of systems, from scrapped corporate set ups, where this was common 12-14 years ago, then its ideal for a mid power gaming rig.

    Officially the HP 8100 CMT does not support Xeon, but if you upgrade the BIOS to v1.13 then it supports Xeon. Make sure you use Win7 to upgrade the BIOS to v1.13 as v1.13 supports Xeon bytecode. Also use a low power gfx card, like the 750ti and get rid of any peripherals that could stress out the 320W PSU.
