Actual vcore is 1.400v ??

Yes, 1.4V vcore. In Windows XP, it overclocked to 4877MHz or 1.45V VTT 4400MHz uncore frequency and passed wPrime 32M. However, this CPU doesn't seem to be a good i7 920 — I stumbled upon a golden i7 920 on a forum that hits 5011MHz at just 1.28V (aircooling?!), which is nothing short of incredible.920-5GHz.thumb.png.47218b169c5a1c0dfa3dd82033a264ac.png

5000 1.28V should be impossible for air/water, probably he uses dryice/LN2, maybe even the voltage is incorrect, but even if 5000 1.28V is real, and 5Ghz is max stable clock - this CPU is very bad on scaling or has a very limited bclk-wall

For comparision - the 920 chip Luumi benched - the second best core I’ve found - needs 1.205V for Superpi 32M at 4500 MHz. My W3520 is slightly better (4500 1.19V), but sadly bclk limited. Said W3520 does 4.83 at 1.33V on air and 4.9 at 1.35V on water.

On cascade these chips scale absurdly well, 5.5+ at 1.45V or less (with typical scaling of 0.04V/100Mhz this would mean ~5.0 at 1.25V ish, maybe even less given these are scaling well above average and voltage wasn’t minimized on cold.

I also think it's impossible, but considering the AIDA64 information in that person's screenshot - like data from multiple temperature sensors - combined with the comments made by "ground" below, I'm now semi-skeptical and feel there might be a sliver of possibility. If there truly exists an air-cooled i7-920 chip running at 1.28V 5GHz in this world, that would be nothing short of a miracle. Based on my experience, most first-gen Core i7 9xx series can only reach 5GHz between 1.45-1.65V. As for i7 8xx series, I haven't thoroughly researched them, but I've encountered a crappy i7-860 that could only manage 4.4GHz in wPrime even with 1.55V water cooling. Regardless, only time will tell about this legendary 1.28V air-cooled 5GHz i7-920.🫠

I envy these CPUs.🤤🤤😫

Found a couple batches that are very reliable at reaching those settings

3918A497, 3914A740 for i7 920

3918A533 for Xeon W3520

3914A739 for i7 975 (my best is 4500 1.23V, but it “only” does a bit over 5.5 on cold sadly since it has a bad coldbehavior - for this batchrange - of -130 sweetspot. My W3520 is happy at fullpot and my other 975 (5.8 valid) at -160.)

QR code range for these chips is N3924-N3926, with almost every single chip I’ve found or heard of in this range being 4500 <1.25V and most chips easily doing 5500 on ln2, as long as bclk plays along.

looking at LN2 results and old forum threads I’m fairly certain W3570s of these batches certainly exist too, unsure about W3540. I’ve tried finding a 950 for years in this range but without luck. Since I’ve stopped actively looking, I no longer feel like its right to keep this info to myself.

According to the second screenshot, the CPU temp was around 0-2C, even if it is air, it is not legal air ;D

That's my picture.1.45V 4.4GHz uncore testing.😗😂

If i  had to choose a bet between a 5G aircooled 920 @1.28 and a man walking on Mars .... i would have chosen the 2nd.

The most likely explanation for this is that the voltage is incorrect
