ROG OC Showdown Extreme Series Round 1

ASUS Republic of Gamers is launching ROG OC Showdown 2015, a global online overclocking competition that invites both extreme and enthusiast overclockers to compete for kudos and great prizes!
ROG OC Showdown 2015 begins with the subzero Extreme series. If you live to crank up the gigahertz with dry ice, liquid nitrogen or any other cooling apparatus to keep the core below 0ºC, then this is the one for you. Extreme series round one runs from January 30 through to March 2, 2015. You’ll need an ASUS/ROG/TUF Z97 or X99 motherboard (and ASUS/ROG/TUF graphics card, for 3D benchmarks) and bucketloads of super-cooling nous. Use the @ASUS_ROG #OCShowdown hashtag to brag your results!

Benchmarks
Stage 1: Cinebench R11.5
- Score will be divided by the number of CPU cores. For example, for a Pentium G3258 the benchmark score will be divided by 2
- Highest score wins
Stage 2: XTU
- XTU CPU Frequency must be 5.5 GHz or lower. If the frequency is incorrectly reported, the score is invalid.
- XTU Monitoring MUST show the CPU frequency DURING load. Results with monitoring disabled or not shown are invalid.
- Score will be divided by the number of CPU cores
Stage 3: 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme
- Single GPU only
- Highest Score Wins

Very nice competition, but how to solve this?
I've tried win 7 32/64/ Win 8 / Win 8.1
I always get this...I've tried clean installations and so on and so on!
I always get this or something like 654645GHZ
Not sure why they'd run a max fixed 5.5GHz frequency that most $1,000+ retail chips can't achieve...
Would have made more sense to just do 5GHz for stages 1 and 2 in my opinion, then go full out for stage 3.
Nonsense, I have tried every copy of W7 and they all read frequency correctly or +1 multi so it's something you are doing to your OS. Ask everyone at the HOT Finals if the mhz was reported as 0 or any other crazy high value other than +1 multi over what was actually set in bios.
Nonsense on your side!
The problem is also there at fresh os install and bios defaults!
Many of the aooc qualifiers had the same issue!
Ask Roman, stummerwinter, benchbros....and so on!!!
I have that issue on all boards except z97 soc as far as I remember...
Yes I also often have this issue and no idea why. Even on a fresh Win7 with no mods at all. Just installed from the original microsoft disc.
Thx Roman!
English / German version ?
Because
FYI, rules were made together by marketing, engineering and hwbot.
XTU is divided by the number of cores not threads correct? The G3258 doesn't make more sense then because it has no HT.
Could some body explain the prizes?
I see that say "Elite League" and "Extreme League" and each one have their prizes.
There are prizes specifically for the Elite and Extreme members. So if you're the best of all Extreme overclockers, you win the prize regardless of how many Elite are in front of you/
It says ASUS/ROG/TUF graphics card for the FSX sub, forgive me as this month will be my first atempt at Ln2 subzero and not a expert in GPU's.. does the Asus 980 strix fall into the ROG/TUF Asus GPU class?
Yes, you can use the GTX 980 Strix
That's what I thought, nice idea.
solved the problem!!!
Like massman said, just install the english version of win7!
I thought so lol but just making sure... just need to hard vmod the card and test a modded BIOS and set for my first attempt and Ln2 a GPU..
Also, do all stages finish on the 2nd March???
For me it doesnt work... Pretty annoying issue...
Send me your email...maybe I can help you
It does not let me post to discussion from contest discussion page.
Hm, yeah, seems like a small bug
Enthusiast league can participate ?
Can we use sample motherboards and cards or must be bought
I would say that you can participate in this one: http://oc-esports.io/#!/round/rogocs_formula_r1
Limitations says not ES...so, samples I think that area allowed no?
You may, but the Formula competition will be more suited for Enthusiast I think.
Retail (samples) can be used, yes.
