HyperX OC Takeover Season III Qualifier

HyperX® will bring ten of the world’s best overclockers to HyperX Headquarters in Fountain Valley, California for the HyperX OC Takeover (HOT) Season III Finals, a live extreme overclocking competition.

Two spots each from South America, Asia, Europe and North America will be won through one global online qualifier. One spot will be a wild card draw from the top 20 and the last spot will be filled by 2014’s HOT champion. The competition is open to any member of HWBOT (subject to the Event’s Terms and Conditions). Global online qualifiers will take place October 19–November 8, 2015, and the finals will be held at HyperX headquarters on December 16–17, 2015.

Participants

This competition is open to any member of HWBOT. Employees (either full-time or part-time) of any motherboard, memory or CPU manufacturers are not eligible for the contest. People living in the following regions are not eligible for the contest due to US laws: Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria..

Hardware Restrictions

  • Memory: Kingston Technology or HyperX
  • CPU: Intel Skylake, 4c/4t only (disable HT on Core i7-6700K)
  • Only components commercially available at the beginning of the competition are allowed, ES hardware is not allowed
  • Server class CPUs are not allowed.

You are free to use any brand for the other components


General Benchmarks Rules

  • The stage point distribution is 25-18-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
  • General HWBOT rules apply
  • CPU-Z version must be v1.73
  • You must attach a rig picture (motherboard, memory and cpu cooler during use) to all submissions
  • Sharing is disllowed for CPU and memory (Rfr. HWBOT rules 3.2.E)
  • In case of a ranking tie the highest memory clock wins, then the best XTU @ 5GHz score
  • For validation, photographs are not allowed


Max Memory Clock Rules

  • The result must be validated on http://valid.x86.fr/
  • HWBOT user name must match CPU-Z validation user name
  • The screenshot must contain the following items: official wallpaper, CPU-Z (CPU, Memory, Mainboard, SPD) within 2% of validated frequency


3DMark11 Physics Full Out Rules

  • 3DMark11 version must be 1.0.132, SystemInfo version must be 4.40
  • The result must be validated by a screenshot and a verification link
  • The screenshot must contain the following items: official wallpaper, 3DMark11 score window, CPU-Z (CPU, Memory, Mainboard, SPD per module)


XTU @ 5 GHz Rules

  • CPU and Cache Frequency in XTU must be 5.0 GHz or lower
  • XTU version must be v6.0.2.8
  • Please refer to this guide if you want to upload your score later
  • The result must be validated by a screenshot in addition to the validation file
  • The screenshot must contain the following items: official wallpaper, XTU result, XTU CPU and Cache Frequency Monitoring during benchmark, CPU-Z CPU, Memory, Mainboard, SPD per module)

The contest runs from Oct 19, 2015 11:00 AM to Nov 8, 2015 10:59 AM (GMT-7). It is divided into 3, 1-week long periods:

  • Week 1: Oct 19, 2015 11:00 AM to Oct 25, 2015 10:59 AM (GMT-7)
  • Week 2: Oct 26, 2015 11:00 AM to Nov 2, 2015 10:59 AM (GMT-7)
  • Week 3: Nov 2, 2015 11:00 AM to Nov 8, 2015 10:59 AM (GMT-7)

The lucky draw winners will be announced on Nov 15, 2015 11:00 AM (GMT-7).


Final winner announcement

The winners for each region and the wild card winner will be announced on Nov 15, 2015 11:00 AM (GMT-7) on HyperX official website and HWBOT website. All the prizes will be shipped to the winners within 30 days from the announcement by HyperX.

HyperX will pay all shipping cost. Should tax liability arise, it will be the responsibility of the winner to notify its (their)own Government's relevant tax department. HyperX takes no responsibility or liability for taxation.

The winners for each region and the wild card winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to HyperX Headquarters in Fountain Valley, CA to compete for the $15,000 HOT World Finals.
