Link to backround?

May 31, 2012 at 11:01:05 PM GMT

Hmmm two of the three stages are open but no backgrounds....

June 1, 2012 at 2:44:35 AM GMT

PCMark05? Really? Seems like an odd choice given the recent explosion in scores and tweaks and such.

June 1, 2012 at 6:30:21 AM GMT

Nice competition GUI, you should consider adding this as a theme for regular page :)

June 1, 2012 at 10:10:56 AM GMT

thanks :)

will there be "normal" monthly competitions in june - september? because of the team cup...

June 1, 2012 at 10:31:44 AM GMT

thats good. theres stuff enough to bench for the team cup ^^

maybe there could be a overview of results from all sub-competition on the team cup main-page..?

June 1, 2012 at 3:51:54 PM GMT

What happened with the "Core 2 9000 series" stage?

June 1, 2012 at 4:40:28 PM GMT

Removed so we dont get raped by QX9775 users :D

June 1, 2012 at 9:16:06 PM GMT

1000 stage?

June 2, 2012 at 10:18:07 AM GMT

The AMD stage has appeared still closed for me every time I checked but I see that many results are posted already. Please, is it open or not?

June 2, 2012 at 12:25:08 PM GMT

It appears closed to me as well but I did make a posting so go ahead and give it a try.

Must have missed the dual core 9000s being released.....

June 2, 2012 at 12:31:37 PM GMT

Thank you! :)

June 2, 2012 at 3:46:46 PM GMT

At least there are dual core 1000 chips out there, so that stage should be added.

June 2, 2012 at 3:53:52 PM GMT

it would be great, if a c2 9000 series would be opened, the dual QX9775 could be blocked or in an extra series (single may allowed)

at all: NICE CUP!

June 2, 2012 at 7:59:45 PM GMT

Must have missed the dual core 9000s being released.....

I have a T9300 :D

June 3, 2012 at 1:20:40 AM GMT

Hey guys, use this background instead now: http://hwbot.org/blog/wp-content//hwbot-team-cup.jpg

I'll check in to answer the questions after breakfast! :)

June 3, 2012 at 1:58:38 PM GMT

My team has already uploaded more than 10 results.

How many changes of the background do you plan until the end of the competition? Every 3 days a new one!?

And are the old submissions still valid?

June 3, 2012 at 3:19:33 PM GMT

Don't worry, you'll have to rebench all the PC05 results anyway as more and more tweaks show up :D

Why was PC05 chosen? It was still alive a while ago, now it's totally broken.

June 3, 2012 at 3:36:03 PM GMT

Change PCMark05 with wprime and all would be fine :P

June 3, 2012 at 4:55:43 PM GMT

Competition for Hardware masters.

June 3, 2012 at 5:03:54 PM GMT

Wen i go to the select a stage page for example SP32M there are no options to select just a blank page.

June 3, 2012 at 5:09:41 PM GMT

Change PCMark05 with wprime and all would be fine :P

Its easier to get LN2 than it is to figure out the "tweaks" in pcmark05 :)

June 3, 2012 at 9:07:06 PM GMT

Once again i would like to participate but when i click the participate button it brings me to a blank page with no benchmarks shown.

June 3, 2012 at 9:16:33 PM GMT

Submit from here http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2012_sc4/

If you're landing on the general page (http://hwbot.org/competition/team_cup_2012/) then scroll down to the bottom of the page where it says HWBOT Team Cup 2012 RoadMap, then select the sub-competition. The "Participate Competition" button works ok there.

Or you can select the stage from the right sidebar, then click on the "Go to stage" button and submit from there.

June 4, 2012 at 1:11:19 AM GMT

My team has already uploaded more than 10 results.

How many changes of the background do you plan until the end of the competition? Every 3 days a new one!?

And are the old submissions still valid?

No more new backgrounds and all submissions are still valid.

Don't worry, you'll have to rebench all the PC05 results anyway as more and more tweaks show up :D

Why was PC05 chosen? It was still alive a while ago, now it's totally broken.

It was chosen to get your tweak on. C'mon guys, you should have at least one PCMark master in the team! :D

Once again i would like to participate but when i click the participate button it brings me to a blank page with no benchmarks shown.

You are clicking 'participate' on the general Team Cup page? The submissions have to be done in the subcompetitions; there are no scores linked to that overall page. Like I.nfraR.ed says, go to the subcompetition page and you can select the stages from there.

Or is it some other issue? If yes, can you make a screenshot to help out?

June 6, 2012 at 11:15:53 PM GMT

It was chosen to get your tweak on. C'mon guys, you should have at least one PCMark master in the team! :D

I concur... I look at PCM05 and I can't help but think of that "200% crazy GF" that a guy has once in their life time... Sure; she's moody, impossible to figure out, can make you feel "inadequate" without even trying, gives you nightmares, makes you feel guilty about being you, etc...

But then there is that one time, when the stars and the planets align and you get everything right... And then.... THEN.... She gives you the ride of your life and you're hooked.

:D

Its easier to get LN2 than it is to figure out the "tweaks" in pcmark05 :)

June 11, 2012 at 5:08:37 PM GMT

June 11, 2012 at 5:45:56 PM GMT

Got hardware too for every stage but... You guys lucky that all my hardware is 300 Km away from me.

June 11, 2012 at 5:50:20 PM GMT

just give me the adress and i'll take care of it. :D

June 11, 2012 at 6:04:33 PM GMT

Too much hardware, even for you ;)

:P, hope one day I can move everything to my new location so I can be back for real to take you down from the Hardware Master King title :D

Just saw that you got 13K btw, congratz

June 12, 2012 at 5:36:12 PM GMT

it´s kind of you to give us others with less hardware a chance :D

June 13, 2012 at 1:49:01 AM GMT

That's why it's a team cup.

You need a team to beat Turrican :D

June 13, 2012 at 3:47:08 AM GMT

The link for the background does not seem to be working.

June 13, 2012 at 4:48:14 AM GMT

this one should work http://hwbot.org/blog/wp-content//hwbot-team-cup.jpg

June 13, 2012 at 5:08:32 AM GMT

I've updated the competitions and their stages with the correct link to the competition background. Should be more convenient :)

Awesome :)

June 22, 2012 at 6:43:27 PM GMT

This is the correct working link it appears:

This is the broken link currently on that page:

July 2, 2012 at 10:36:52 AM GMT

Fixed that, I.M.O.G. Thanks for the heads up! :)

July 9, 2012 at 3:27:50 PM GMT

Nice work, Overclock.net! Madshrimps is climbing too, though ... :)

July 9, 2012 at 3:36:47 PM GMT

And I've just started with GeForce stages :P

However can't produce the same amount of submissions like larger teams + I don't have any Core2 chips, except one in the office.

Still not much behind Madshrimps.

July 9, 2012 at 4:51:09 PM GMT

I start to remember how much fun OC is with this old hardware. Loving the Asrock AGP board :D

July 9, 2012 at 9:43:38 PM GMT

Stupid Competition, I lost so many gold cups, hate you all guys :D

July 11, 2012 at 7:27:08 PM GMT

Been searching for a week now to get a GF2 Ultra, can't seem to find it :(

5900XT already arrived today.

Time to get the old P4C800-E deluxe out of the closet...

Benching will be done with another board, no worries :P

July 16, 2012 at 7:47:14 PM GMT

Are Quadro NV40 cores acceptable. They are the equiv. of a 6 series all.

Why you worry about? You have all days after office to recover those cups... :D

July 17, 2012 at 2:09:26 AM GMT

I didn't know CN even had gold cups...

July 20, 2012 at 10:08:28 AM GMT

Overclock.net still ... let's change that :-) :-)

July 21, 2012 at 8:44:41 AM GMT

This is the "cleaned up" version :P

cratulation on awardfabrik for the first place at the hwbot team cup:)

September 1, 2012 at 9:58:10 AM GMT

thanks blackbolt

September 1, 2012 at 12:15:54 PM GMT

I'm happy that got to the 7th place overall right behind much bigger teams and I was playing alone.

In addition I didn't submit anything in the pcmark stage, just one result in the core2 stage from my office machine and only ddr and ddr2 submissions in memory stages.

Might got higher place if I had bigger resources, but I played with what I already had, excluding some cheap agp cards and couple of Phenom II chips that are already sold.

Congrats to the winners in the longest competition till now.

September 1, 2012 at 4:15:10 PM GMT

Congrats to winners! Had fun!

September 2, 2012 at 10:24:26 AM GMT

Congratz all, very fun stages. And very competitive scores !

Thanks Gamer, Massman, Teemtooooooo, Skull for submitting for the Shrimps team...

Till next time !!

September 2, 2012 at 12:45:21 PM GMT

Heads-up: still going over the competition scores.

Personal note: don't travel at the start or end of competitions.

September 2, 2012 at 1:15:45 PM GMT

what the hell is going on here

September 2, 2012 at 1:24:22 PM GMT

what the hell is going on here

His score has been reported and blocked due to ES use:

http://hwbot.org/submission/2300238_

September 2, 2012 at 1:37:45 PM GMT

one would have the score then also earlier perch are able, so that burnhh the chance would have had the score without es cpu again to reproduce

September 2, 2012 at 1:55:44 PM GMT

No! This is a nightmare. Why so late?

September 2, 2012 at 1:58:28 PM GMT

No! This is a nightmare. Why so late?

Has been reported 3 days before end of competition and somebody poked me this morning about it.

Didn't see it before, sorry.

But anyway Massman has to check ALL results one by one now :D

September 2, 2012 at 2:00:32 PM GMT

Massmans been out of town :( . He did get called on it over a month ago tho...

September 2, 2012 at 2:11:52 PM GMT

Really ridiculous!

Would you need to take out earlier. We had no chance to respond.

Really sad,

will consider then me to do something like this again!

Sorry for my bad English

September 2, 2012 at 2:18:35 PM GMT

thats a joke: Didn't see it before, sorry.

Well I am not in charge of double checking all competition submissions.

Anyway it's was written "retail hardware only" crystal clear on the stage and competition limitations, furthermore the submission doesn't have any screenshot with competition background and at least CPU-Z memory tab.

Also now I see that somebody commented 35 days ago about the ES use.

----

Heads-up: still going over the competition scores.

Personal note: don't travel at the start or end of competitions.

September 2, 2012 at 2:19:42 PM GMT

this is really really ridiculous guys! CPU has nothing to do with ram! how cares about this old CPU without IMC!!! ridiculous!!!

if the result would have been blocked earlier, we has uploaded another scores! -.-

September 2, 2012 at 2:24:23 PM GMT

Look, you guys are in the wrong. People had commented on the submissions saying it should and will be disallowed because it was a) with ES hardware and b) didn't fulfill screenshot requirements. The rules were clear, and they were posted in the comments section of the submission well before the end of the comp. You had time to rebench it if you wanted to, it was never going to stand.

September 2, 2012 at 2:26:59 PM GMT

if the result would have been blocked earlier, we has uploaded another scores! -.-

I hate to point this out, but this sort of attack on the staff is nearly abuse.

Surely if the user had read the rules at the beginning of the contest, then there wouldn't be an issue. It's not the staff's fault for not picking up on the failure of an individual to read and follow rules. As a team, you have to combine you efforts to make sure each submission is valid at all times. Even a month before the end of the contest.

September 2, 2012 at 2:34:27 PM GMT

take a look around at all the other results in this competition! i am sure there are more of such results that no one had seen or reported! why we? maybe call me a "bad loser" or what ever, but i am such we deserve the win -.-

September 2, 2012 at 2:47:44 PM GMT

Calm down mate. Its calling Team Benching. We benched very good. Maybe better than other Teams. But if one member didn't looked carefully over the cup rules and we, the more experienced benchers didnt make him aware of it, we failed.

September 2, 2012 at 3:09:12 PM GMT

You did bench very well. Don't be so hard on yourself. Things slip by. It's very hard to police every single sub made by your team.

I've seen other subs by other teams with errors in them. They will be found also.;)

Great comp, loved it. See you the next go round. :)

September 2, 2012 at 6:19:47 PM GMT

@ HWBot is right if it is times sincere burn has not observed the rule, which is the charge of the I but the HWBot the score just take out should have! Since had we still insist can respond either get a different CPU or at a different benchmark again more get out can.

For this reason, I find it not IO the first place will be recognized from us then.

Greetings Sven

September 2, 2012 at 6:42:46 PM GMT

Say what? :D

Massman will take care of checking all results one by one hopefully tomorrow.

September 3, 2012 at 12:58:51 AM GMT

This is not an ideal situation, but still - major screwup to use ES in a competition. I can't remember ANY HWBot competition where you could use engineering samples, at least not the old monthly challenges. ES scores can't be allowed here, period. In my opinion.

September 3, 2012 at 2:03:36 PM GMT

It is a shame that this was not resolved several days before the end of the competition but the usage of an ES chip was definitely against the rules.

AwardFabrik is an excellent team and superb sandbaggers! Lol

September 3, 2012 at 3:24:44 PM GMT

There was a discussion within our team and I thought it was handed over to the hwbot crew to resolve LONG before.

But the score stood there, accepted by everyone and when it is for more than 8 weeks...well why deleting it now?

There is nothing to really blame about "on the paper" as the rules are 100% clear in that point and the score is not completly legit but only because of things that do not really affect the result (keep that in mind!).

maybe just a little comparison:

If there was a questionable penalty in the 5th minute of a football game the ref will decide it in the 5th minute.

He will not come after playtime and call "uhhh I think I was wrong in the 5th minute this penalty does not count".

Maybe for the future sort the questionable results right away to let people have time to react.

Everyone noticed this screen before, just nobody mentioned it - maybe the worst anti-sandbag in history and worth a smile if you take things not too serious :D

September 3, 2012 at 5:07:51 PM GMT

Bad comparison, there is no 'real time' ref at HWB. It relies on the members and staff to police the subs when they have time. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the bencher to check his sub for accuracy before he submits it. If you don't want or like that, then it should be up to their respective team captains to check it for them. There is no fault of the staff or anybody else here, except the bencher who submitted the entry and maybe his team for not checking it.

September 3, 2012 at 5:56:35 PM GMT

Iirc the score actually got reported before. at least it was questioned in our forums and marked as "under moderation" when I checked.

So I did not re-reported it. I would have done it for sure to save us exactly from this situation.

Anyway it is NOT a bad comparison...at least equal to the "bolt-axiom" we had...

September 3, 2012 at 6:05:22 PM GMT

We had a submission that sat, reported and un-moderated, forwell over a month as well.

We finally replaced it with a better one in the last couple weeks of the GF comp, it still hadn't been moderated.

September 3, 2012 at 10:14:32 PM GMT

We finally replaced it with a better one in the last couple weeks of the GF comp, it still hadn't been moderated.

Which one ? I don't see it in the reported submissions list.

September 3, 2012 at 10:32:47 PM GMT

It was a GF2 class I think, an Ultra that GPUz read as GTS. Our guy may have deleted it or a mod may have (finally) approved it after it was replaced with a better one.

September 5, 2012 at 11:41:26 AM GMT

So... is this official now?

September 5, 2012 at 9:51:59 PM GMT

So... is this official now?

I also would like to know this!

September 6, 2012 at 2:31:18 AM GMT

News update follows. We were still looking into the PCMark scores, but it seems that issue is worked out too.

September 6, 2012 at 10:16:14 AM GMT

Thanks Massman!

September 11, 2012 at 3:54:13 PM GMT

Any update here? Are the results official?

September 11, 2012 at 11:24:04 PM GMT

Any update here? Are the results official?

more importantly are prizes shipped =)

September 13, 2012 at 1:14:18 AM GMT

Maybe HWBOT will announce official winners before 2013! It takes longer to get results around here then it does to do the entire contests! Maybe these guys need to hire some help!

September 13, 2012 at 3:12:44 AM GMT

Sorry about the delay. I've been running all over the place (taipei) lately and only yesterday got internet installed in my home/office.

September 13, 2012 at 12:42:16 PM GMT

Sorry for my tone! I know you have a lot on your plate!

September 15, 2012 at 10:18:24 PM GMT

Update?

September 20, 2012 at 11:41:16 PM GMT

I think it is pretty comical that 3 weeks after a major competition ends, still no official release!

September 22, 2012 at 12:44:21 PM GMT

9 weeks since the stage I won ended :D

Gigabyte even upgraded their lineup since the end of the competition. So, basically the prizes are not even from the must current series... rofl.

The way this should've been handled is "stage over" -> "contact winners for shipping details" -> "ship parts". Done. No need to wait till the end of the competition to send the stage prizes, a stage is also a standalone competition - no scores posted in august could change anything related to a stage that ended in July. And also no need to hold the prizes for at least 3 weeks after the end of the competition. You may wonder if prizes will ever be shipped... or if Z89 will be out first.

This is tragic... haha. I feel sorry for the other winners, and I'm somewhat ashamed of being a part of the moderating crew when I see this. I actually hoped some of you other guys had received your stuff, and it was just me who had to wait now.

9 weeks since the stage I won ended :D

Gigabyte even upgraded their lineup since the end of the competition. So, basically the prizes are not even from the must current series... rofl.

The way this should've been handled is "stage over" -> "contact winners for shipping details" -> "ship parts". Done. Changes are definitely required in competitions. Most everyone agrees that these extreme delays are unacceptable. Hwbot has some very responsive moderators like yourself, why not ask them to help with the certifying of results and help produce a news release.

HWBOT has a very loyal membership and fan base.

Massman, if unable to complete tasks in a resonable time frame, needs to delegate some of the responsibility! This is the sign of a true leader.

Not sure what to write here as you guys are genuinly right. Sorry about that!

In any case, sponsors have been informed about the shipping addresses. Should be starting to ship next week.

Hm. The vendors (and Team Captains) should be aware about the shipping info.

I'll ask the various vendors what is going on.
