Which PCI-Express adapter is that Moonman ? I bought two 16X ones but GPU-Z tells me the card runs at 1X...

Leeghoofd, it's a standard pci-e riser from ebay. You checked if it has connection on all of the data pins?
Those risers are quite fragile, had to solder those connections many many times.
